WTF! The VIN # is already visible through the windshield on the dash. I would never pay to have the VIN # etched into my door glass. I wouldn't even want it done if it was free! It looks bad, it's redundant, and stupid!
I think it is to combat chop shops. Allegedly.

So, consider this: the average valuation for a “big three” dealership in the US is $6.5 M. This does not include real estate in which the dealership resides. Just Inventory and improvements, cash and debt net etc.

Now, there are 3000 Ford dealerships in the states. That is $19.5B (!) in overhead that our purchase prices support just to transact our purchases (service dept being one variable to cost/revenue).

Couple that with the fact that Ford, even before Covid (-44% since Covid), was operating at a 7% profit margin based on capitalization. That’s 1/2 of what it should be per Ecomonic formulae regarding risk.

Dealerships like Granger. Shepherd are proving they can service most of the nation with an economy individual dealerships can’t.

Where Would you cut costs if you were Jim Farley and saw this in practice?

May I suggest boldface, italics, allcaps and quadruple the font size on the word "Allegedly."

Sure it does. Most manufacturers give lump sum rewards for X number of new cars per month or quarter. Plus hold back. That's likely what Granger is doing. Plus with the possibility of a trade-in and holding half a point or a point on rate, plus extended service plans, they can get back to a wash or maybe $1,000 in the black before even receiving their 60-150k lump sum for hitting high new car sales numbers. Plus higher numbers can unlock other perks from Ford corporate and start getting better treatment in the future as high volume dealers usually are treated the best.

Doesn't sound like you know much about this. Not trying to be rude per say but if you haven't worked in the industry I assure you you don't know much of what you're talking about. Though different manufacturers operate differently, though I'm pretty sure Ford is similar from my old company's model. Except their salesmen are usually paid like crap.
Again, we'll wait and see what you actually pay in December. Some people are putting far too much primacy on a few grand up front.

I'm in my 60's and bought my fair share of new vehicles. It has been my experience that after you take delivery the salesman drops you like a used condom.

Oh don't get me wrong, if there's any funny business I'll take my business elsewhere.

The fact that their General Sales Manager or GM have approved Albert to be the dedicated Bronco guy a year out from fruition makes me believe that they've thought this out and will follow through with what they say.

The most :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: that is a good start...
Like I mentioned in my other thread, the sales manager was in full-peacock mode boasting of 684 reservations and he wasn't concerned about losing a reservation over a $500 trade-in assistance promotion at Mullinax. I'm reserving with you anyway, just holding out so I'm at the end of the line. But I wanted to hear their offer in person being that they are only 5 miles from my house. When he boasted of his 684 reservations, it took all my composure not to laugh in his face.

What do you think the motor costs on your Bronco?
Can you give me the info for the Lifetime Warranty. I want to read their fine print. The other that was mentioned here made no claim to pay for labor. The example being they would cover the the $25 head gasket but not the $2000 in labor. if they are legit, I want to talk to them!

Considering I've had my F150 for almost 8 years and have over 150k miles on it with only having to replace an alternator so far, I am not considering replacing my engine. The worst problem I've had with a Ford vehicle is the EGR cooler on a 2004 F250 diesel, which everyone knows was a horrible year for Ford 6.0 diesel engines. I replaced the EGR 2x under warranty . I still drove it for 8 years. Why do you think your engine is going to go out on you? Why would you invest this kind of cash in a vehicle you are concerned will have total engine failure? I have driven MANY many vehicles in my life and none needed an engine replaced until they were very old (My dad liked to give me old high mileage vehicles to drive while in high school and college. Once I came home with a 20 year old Volvo station wagon that blew a rod and went back to college with a $300 Pinto. I hated that Pinto...but I digress.)

I know I can get a new crate engine installed on my truck by my mechanic if I want/need to, but that would be YEARS after a warranty would expire, including these 150k mile/200k mile warranties dealers like to advertise in my area.

Have you read the fine print on these warranties, btw? I have. If that is super important to you, then go for it. I will save money up front and put it in my bank account. Then if I need money for a repair, I already have it saved. My vehicle will be paid off earlier, and I will have less debt. I have never had to replace an entire engine in a vehicle I purchased new, ever. The most expensive (to repair) vehicle I've owned was that diesel F250 and the engine didn't even go out on that one.
