I received the invitation for a hard top for my 2021 Bronco. I put my order in and waited a month. I even called with questions multiple times. I put the order on a credit card. I was sent a new credit card during the month I waited. Ford cancelled my order because I didn’t activate my new card. I had no idea this was going on. Ford didn’t even tell me the card didn’t go through. They cancelled my order and Now will not let me order another one. Hopefully someone has advice on how I can purchase a hard top. The guy at ford told me to purchase a new vehicle that’s how I can get what I want. I’ve waited forever and originally ordered a painted hard top before having to switch to a soft top. Ford is very disappointing.

Sorry to hear - but sounds a bit self-inflicted. Having worked for a credit card company I know the ins/outs and by not activating it you triggered a fraud or lost card action that basically killed your other card as well. It sucks that Ford won't allow you to order again - I'd keep pushing see if you can't get the case escalated.

So you initially placed a CC order and it was accepted/processed...is that correct? Does the transaction show up on your account? Seems to me if the CC was rejected initially you would of been notified at that time and the order wouldn't have been accepted/processed. I'm trying to understand how an order that has already been processed on a good card could get cancelled simply because the card expired at a later date? Were you reimbursed the cost or were you never charged? Either way pretty sh**ty the dealer didn't reach out to you for alternate payment.

So you initially placed a CC order and it was accepted/processed...is that correct? Does the transaction show up on your account? Seems to me if the CC was rejected initially you would of been notified at that time and the order wouldn't have been accepted/processed. I'm trying to understand how an order that has already been processed on a good card could get cancelled simply because the card expired at a later date? I had no idea. The original card was still good till the end of the month. I asked ford today if I could have updated my card info and they said no. They have no way of updating your payment info after they take the order. If they would have charged it right away like I thought, all would have been good. Now I can’t even make another order.

Yes, the order was placed on 08/16. I thought it was charged immediately. Apparently they just check it? They sent me the cancel email on 9/10. I wasn’t notified at all from the credit card company or Ford. They just cancelled the order. I called today and was told there isn’t any way to update payment information after the order is placed. The timing of the new card was just at the wrong time. They said there isn’t an invitation now it’s open to everyone. It’s just not available at this time or the last week and half. They don’t know when it will be available again.
