I saw a heritage with a painted top. The top looked really nice. Has there been any issues with the painted tops vs MIC? I assume its also manufactured the same way. Also for the announcement of the black edition Raptor I thought I read something about a new top... or Manu... ???
Had my heritage since February and so far the painted white top is in a perfect condition. I believe a different contractor produces the heritage tops and given that it’s a painted top, it’s supposed to last longer so fingers crossed

I believed that all MIC tops are destined for delamination and cracking. Mine started to spiderweb around the windows and now the roof is bubbling. It is at the dealership now.

There is another thread where somebody went to several dealerships and took photos. Every single Bronco on every lot had the cracking around the windows.

Mark my words. We are seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Why would you leave it at the dealership over a top issue? Just tell them to notify you when it comes in and you will swing in for the swap.

What is the exposer to the elements for the failing tops. Mine is always garaged and looks great. Just curious if that has anything to do with them failing. Not that it should matter!! Come on Ford!!

'21 and part of the original dirt mountain webasto-fiasco hardtop hold. 45K miles lots of sunshine and temp changes, no issues. Well, the two front panels they replaced at dirt mountain are a different shade of color, but I personally don't care about that.

Hope you and others get a good resolution so you can get back to enjoying your Broncos!

They are inspecting the top. They have not yet submitted a claim to Ford for the top; I'm waiting to hear back on what they're going to do. I provided a copy of Ford's current MIC top problems advisory and the old 2021-2022 MY TSB for the uneven front panels (which they said technically doesn't apply due to mine being a 2023 MY, but we'll see). I took it in for other warranty work at the same time.

I was checking locations of posters and it looks like most are in the sunbelt, which would make me believe that it might be heat/sun related.

Mine is parked in garage most of the time and is only exposed to the elements for about 10 hours a day two times a week when I go into work.

Delamination could also be cold related. Ever see that majorly cracked/delaminated top in freezing temps from a while back? In my opinion, it is simply shit construction related.

The spiderweb cracking around the windows is not temperature related. Somebody visited dealerships and photographed every new Bronco on the lots having the tiny cracks (which grow into larger cracks). Those cracks are usually only visible in certain lighting or if talcum powder is dusted on them. Mine are invisible most of the time.

That was my thinking, but the OP lives only a few miles from me. :frown:

We aren't known for getting a lot of sun/heat. Although it will hit a rare 93 today.

Great to see that this is a viable solution! This will be my plan in the worst case since I'm out of warranty. Do you know if products exist with a smoother end finish, I don't know how much I would like the super rough bed liner.

I have a 2022 ford badlands 4 door, 21,000 miles. May 2024 i noticed my real hard top panel had several bubbles. My dealer quickly ordered then replaced my rear panel. 1 month later this replaced rear panel is starting to show bubbles. Just wanted to give other owners a heads-up.
See pictures below first picture is original panel 2nd picture is of the 1 month old replacement panel.

I have had this issue for a few months. Took it to Jannell Ford in Hanover, MA. Was told it doesn't merit a repair at this time, but I should monitor it. The advisor added, however, that even if the hardtop degrades, Ford may not authorize a warranty repair/replacement. It's on a case by case basis.

Which is unsettling.

Does the warranty for the hard top end at 30,000 miles?
