So, I tried it with 300 HZ and 600HZ blockers.....I like the 600 HZ better - what these do is "block" the bass signal, up to a certain frequency, from being sent to the speaker. The 300HZ ones were not enough for me as the speakers sounded overloaded. 600HZ was perfect and I could turn it up higher and the music stayed crystal clear. Are you using a Kicker Key 200.4 amp as well or not? If not, I would highly recommend it. The sound difference is THAT good. I also HIGHLY recommend changing out the 6.5 kick panel speakers. That create a better "soundstage". I personally DO NOT like listening to music very loud - but I like my music VERY clear. As you slowly upgrade your system, you will start to hear things that you normally never heard before
I have the stock B&O and don’t plan on doing any amp upgrades. Just want a little better sound. Did you try them without the blockers?

Yup. There was WAY too much bass for the dash speakers. THat's why I got the blockers :) BUT - I also DON'T have the B&O system. That system might already have better crossovers built-in. Get the bass blockers....try them without, try them with. See what you like the best. The bass blockers are not hard to install and very easy to return to Amazon.

If you also have the B&O, then speaker upgrades should be good enough for you to hear a big difference in sound. I still would recommend changing out those 6.5 kick panel speakers :) You could go Kickers....but if you can i would go MORELs. I have those now and previously had Kickers.....Massive change in music quality.

I also have the B&O - posted on this thread earlier - did the Hertz and PRV in the center. Wasn't totally thrilled with the center (kind of "tinny" and wound up running in stereo), so got another Hertz and installed in the center. Threw everything off. Now center is blaring and I hear a hissing on certain songs (sounds like excessive cymbal?). Also doesn't get as "loud" with the top and doors off. Debating on what to do next - go back to the PRV w/ 300hz bass blockers as I saw in another thread or any other suggestions for the center???

Installed the Hertz 4” 100.3dash, center and rear pods on my B&O. Sounds great. Setting in surround with tone all reset to center. Sounds great with apple carplay music. Sirius is better but speakers can’t fix the compression. Not sure I’m going to bother with the kick panels.

@ hilmerdm - what did you end up doing for your Kick Panel speakers ? Assuming your still running the factory B&O amp ?

I have the stock amp and kick panel speakers in now. I’m debating putting in the Memphis ones posted on another thread soon or wait and do it along with the subwoofer and amp upgrade.

I did the Memphis: my opinion is that I gained clarity and midrange, but feel like I lost some low end punch. With the aftermarket subwoofer, one could make the argument that I don’t need low end punch at my feet. Verdict is not out yet. I would say I’m neutral at the moment as I have no intention of swapping out the stock B&O amplifier

Thanks for the input - my other idea is to add a powered underseat/compact sub vs going the 500.1 amp and Kicker sub upgrade route. Just want a little more bass, not so much that my kid goes deaf in the back seat. Main goal is to only rip into the kicker area once - can run a powered sub off of the kicker speaker wire. After pulling out the center grill 3 times, don't want to have to repeat that with the kick panels.

OK - Trying to plan out next phase of upgrade. I'm pretty much set on going with the Kicker 500.1 amp and Kicker 8" sub upgrade route - not much $ saved with a small powered sub. While I'm pulling everything apart I might as well do the kick panel speakers. The Memphis speakers seem to be popular but mainly for their bass improvement - which I hope to fill with the upgraded sub. I'm worried about too much bass if I go with those - the Morels are also an option as well as continuing with the Hertz. Should I be concerned about too much bass with the Memphis?

@hilmerdm - my advise from personal experience - do the sub first and I think you’ll find the kick panel speakers become a non issue. The Memphis don’t have as much low punch or bass as the OEM B&O kick panel speakers. It would be the last thing I would do - if you do them at all.

Do the sub first - thing is this......yes, you will get all your deeper bass taken care of, but the quality of the sub you use will also dictate how accurate you can replicate all the "bass-lines" of the song you are listening to. 2ohm vs. 4ohm.....cone material....etc. Now proper 6.5s will get you to hear the bass in the vocals, the fading sounds of a bass guitar and even some sounds you've never heard before with lesser-quality speakers.

After installing my 10 inch enclosure....as much as I tuned it, something was still missing. I then exchanged my Kicker 6.5 speeakers for MORELs. This not only filled that "gap in the music" but the quality of the sound coming out of the MORELs is really another level. I would highly suggest you use them. You'll see (and hear) what I am talking about

Thanks…yes, goal is to do the sub and kick panels at the same time - don’t want to pull panels multiple times if I can help it…so wanting to settle on which ones. Sounds like the Morels would work great.
