What are the largest tires people have fitted on the 17-inch black high-gloss painted aluminum wheels that come with the Black Diamond package? I'd love to see pictures and hear stories about people's experiences with bigger tires on these wheels. I previously created a thread about 285/75R17 tires, but I'm curious if anyone has managed to fit 35-inch tires on these wheels. Did it come with any issues, and how do they look?

I have 255/85r17 on my steelies which I believe are the same specs as the aluminum BD wheels and BB wheels. They’re same diameter as the Sasquatch good years but narrower. A skinnier tire look is subjective but after doing it w this wheel I wouldn’t have it any other way. The look goes with skinnier wheel and narrow fender flares in my opinion. They don’t rub, even w crash bars still installed. I have a 1in level up front but I’m pretty sure a few guys have run them on stock suspension. The +55 offset wheel is the key here…

I've seen plenty of photos with big tires on steelies, but I've never found any images on Google or this forum showing 35-inch tires on high-gloss black aluminum wheels. I'm really curious to see how that looks and whether anyone has actually done it.

@Demosouthpaw

He's running 315/70/17 with apparently no spacer on 17" Big Bend wheels, the question is, does it actually fit with no issues, or no rubbing on the control arms? and are there any differences between the 17" big bend wheels, and the 17-inch black high-gloss painted aluminum wheels. I see so many pics of 35s on Big Bend wheels but non on the 17-inch black high-gloss painted aluminum wheels

Mickey Thomson Baja Boss and as far as I know they are the only ones making this size at this point in time.
They’re E rated. I was concerned with that and their aggressiveness before I bought them. I’ve been running them 35psi and really have no complaints. As far as road noise they are very quite for how they look. Most reviews said that. We’ll see how they do w some real miles on them though. They’re 3 peak rated for snow too, and I live in NY so I’m excited for a good snow to test them out…

The 17-inch black high-gloss painted aluminum wheels used to be a $1000 option and many people decided it wasn’t worth it. Hence there are more pics of BD steelies.

I run 285/70 R17's on my Base.
I went with 25 mm offset and it tracks the same as the original tires.
Not even close to rubbing, with crash bars left on.

Good deal. The ones I remember having slight rubbing with 285s had the more positive offset of the factory wheel (+55mm). The inside sidewall was just barely rubbing the sway bar in some cases, like full lock to one side w the steering wheel.

No. Big Bend wheels, as well as both options on the Black Diamond, all have the same specs, 17 x 7.5” with +55 offset. Anything you’ve seen on an otherwise stock Big Bend will work exactly the same on a Black Diamond.

2024 Black Diamond w/2.3, 10R60.

BFG KO 2’s 285/70r17’s

No mods, just tires. Crash bars still in place. No rub lock to lock.

I like the way the transmission shifts. Holds the gears a little longer before shifts.

Speed re-calibrated with Forscan using GPS, settled on 2508. Stock = 2440.

Only cost me about 1 MPG from stock tires.

I wanted the KO’2s 295/70r17. But they are over 20 lbs heavier each tire!!! This is my commuter so that would have put a huge hit on MPG.
