Do You Use FordPass App?

Before, I only used it to lock my doors occasionally and look at my Rewards points. Sometimes, I could remote start sometimes not. My points are spent, and the New Updated app isn't too appealing..
Edit: I feel like it was better before the update, but didn't do much

Don't find it very useful anymore. Will check the tire pressure and reward points , but that's about it.

Not sure how it was on other vehicles but it used to show a alot of good driving data on my Hybrid F150 (speed, avg mpg, driving habits, etc), but they'd taken that away before I traded it for the Bronco. The App seems a bit neutered now.

do you really want ford to have "black box" data available on you 24/7/ They offered me $ to sign up to the program. There is not way I'm going to allow my vehicles to vomit every detail about my driving to ford so they can resell data to the highest bidder.

I signed up for it to try and get the ford pass points. Then it added an alexa icon to the center dash screen. I didn't want that and couldn't figure out how to delete it so I did a factory reset or whatever and deleted the app.

You can still spend the ford points without the app, it goes by your email associated with your purchase or the Member ID with your Bronco, in my experience at the dealership.

Everytime any new tech is talked about on this forum you get people commenting about "tHeY cAn'T HaVe mY dAtA" It's wild, and they never explain why...just act super paranoid about nothing....like your cell phone doesn't have the same access to your "driving habits"

Only used it to find the OM, only to find out the manual is no longer available through the app. Other than that, I don’t have much use for it.

I'm an information security professional, I've seen first hand how personal data is misused. Everyone should be aware of what you give up when you agree to give companies unfettered access to your personal information and the consequences. Most people have no clue and don't care because they think that their personal data is secure and no one is collecting it but guess again.... AI has made this issue even more important, now VAST amounts of data can be gathered, parsed, categorized and then acted on, all automatically in the background. It actually would sound paranoid if it wasn't really happening right now. There's a reason people in the AI industry are sounding the alarm about their own products.

It was mostly useless, but with their new privacy agreement, just like a rapist, there was no button to opt-out of the updated terms. You agree to give them unfettered access to your data - not just about your Bronco, but everything on your phone, or don't use the app. I chose the latter.

I had to use it this past Wednesday. Leaving a work meeting out of town to drive home, and the Bronco wouldn’t unlock when I touched the door handle. I tried the fob. Still no go. Had to use the app to unlock it. I got in and pushed the start button only to get the message on the dash “No key detected.” Placed the key in the cutout in the console and it started.
I thought I had a dead fob battery, but strangely enough it has worked normally ever since.

@ TX-Dennis Yeah, after the last update, my fob is weird. Sometimes I have to click lock/unlock more than once for it to respond. Changed to fresh batteries..lol didn't matter
