I've been looking at the exhausts available for the Bronco and didn't see this as an option.
On my 911, it has a valve that will allow the exhaust to remain quiet when I want it and I can open the valve when I want it loud.

Would this be of interest to the Bronco community?

I was thinking that it would be a cat-back exhaust. And with the valve closed, it would direct flow through a muffler and exit on the passenger side. This would allow for quiet running when desired.
Open the valve, and the exhaust would flow straight out the drivers side tip for essentially no muffler and it would be louder.
I've dealt with exhausts in the past and would more than likely run a resonator in-line as well. Any kind of drone would NOT be welcome.

Thoughts?

One concern: An open exhaust would be illegal off road in the summer time (not sure the cat qualifies as a spark arrester)

Shouldn't be hard to do, they sell kits. You'll definitely need a resonator. I have a 12" on ours and it's still not enough but definitely better than straight piped.

I've seen a couple exhausts that are available now and they're basically only running a resonator with no muffler.

I would 100% run a resonator. I had a Remus exhaust on my GTI and it sounded perfect.....until I installed a catted DP. It was ungodly loud! I added two resonators to quiet it down to a tolerable level.

I actually live within driving distance to three aftermarket exhaust manufacturers. I'm sure one of them would entertain this idea.

They're called electronic exhaust cutouts, you buy them by size and a muffler shop would put it at the bottom of the downpipe. I had one on my old Legacy GT 2.5T and it was cool/fun. I had a switch under my steering wheel to open/close it.

They're pretty common with the corvette community.
