in 2 and a half years ive had 6 emails. dont lie to the people. you communicate when you know how to spin things. you dont even let people know about delays after promising a new delivery window
It really is a sad story at this point. The only promise being kept is the opportunity to get refunded quickly.

I'm curious about how much money is spent on these ads we all keep seeing (the ones that show misleading information and are likely renewed on a monthly basis), the videos, the marketing hype, etc. With every passing day, every deadline missed, and every failed promise this brand will take a hit.

Sure, people who weren't involved will likely buy this inventory (assuming it even launches) but now I'm apparently thinking like ADV is. Loyal customers? Screw 'em. We have plenty more to take your place! Whether or not that is true, that is the PERCEPTION of your customers on this thread. That is how they FEEL, and it's important to remedy this situation with PROACTIVE, CONSISTENT, DETAILED communication.

If I was a betting man, I'd say it's summer before anyone sees a top. They clearly are in over their heads....

There was no “Why are you canceling?” or “Is there anything we can do you keep you as a customer?” or “It is only 2 more weeks and we have units in house ready to ship.” It was just how can I get you your money back. Fortunately I received my money back and for that I am glad, but no kudos to ADV for the gesture.
That would be concerning to me if I had a top on order. Like no hesitation, no questions asked, just here is your refund. I mean glad they didn't put up a fight to giving anyone there money back, but the no hesitation makes me think something is amiss here.

I had the same experience with Advanced. I emailed them yesterday asking for an update. I quickly got a response from someone named Chris saying the new ship date is April. (My last email from them in January listed Mid-February as the ship date). I emailed him back saying I would like a refund. I then got nervous after reading all these posts and decided to call them instead and ask for a refund. The same guy who I was emailing answered the phone and when I asked for a refund he said, "Sure, no problem". He emailed me some information and I decided to take the ACH option so I could get a refund faster. The money is already showing up in my account today... Less than 24 hours after that interaction with them... While I find it strange they are not ftrying to save all these customers, at least they are keeping their word and getting the refunds back in a timely manner... OK, what is Plan B for most people who have gotten a refund from Advanced Fiberglass?

My PLAN B is the Turn Offroad top. I got on their list fairly early, and my top from them is shipping this week.

I had pretty much the same experience with the refund process. Sent ADV a message and they said "no problem", and I had the funds the next day.

justin, what batch are you in.
I had a conversation with chris about a week ago, I was now supposed to be early march.
I am in batch 1 and a first half hour ordered, I would hope im heading toward the front of the line with people cancelling.
I hope they are not already pushing back the latest fcst as of last week from march to april.

I think they are quickly refunding deposits because most of the people who are giving up are the early reservationists. I would imagine they are getting new orders in very quickly to replace the original sufferers and rather than try and drag along the long term faithful, that they would rather quickly give them their refund rather than try and stretch them along..

Im still hanging in there, if there was another 1 piece option, I would be long gone.
good luck with your plan B. you can always reorder with ADV if they start shipping some day.

Agree, it's exactly my assumption I posed here yesterday :)

Who in their right mind would be throwing money at them after this disaster? I don't see that happening, P.T Barnum may disagree with me.

That's an insult to Andy Reid :ROFLMAO:
149 pages of NOTHING. Can we end this thead. Tired of clicking on it thinking something will be delivered and actually have pics. Makes me wonder how TCCustoms got one like a year ago and then no others made. I think he sold his with the top wonder who has it and what is the actual review on it.

So I finally bailed today, and had the same experience as some of the others who have gotten refunds lately - no questions asked, very courteous and efficient. In fact, the refund has already gone through via ACH.

I tend to agree with the theory that they have plenty of other, likely more recent, orders and frankly might be relieved to reduce the backlog a smidge. I understand the interest rate argument, but considering they had to eat the credit card fees that "profit" is going to be pretty minimal, at least from me.

I guess my thought is that, while the communication was pretty much non-existent and the deadlines kept getting pushed back and back and back, the fact that they offered a refund put it on us, as customers, to either "take it" or not. I chose to "take it" until today, and now I'm hoping Turn will get around to white tops by April or May (latest estimate). But I also put in a no-deposit order with BMC Extreme Customers for an Anderson white top with an ETA of September as a backup. Their timetables have been pretty consistent, so at least I'm confident I'll have my top by autumn at worst. And who knows, Armadillo is designing tops just up the road from me and they might have theirs delivering soon, too.

It's all disappointing, but at least the refund process went smoothly and now I'm in the queue for two options that are actually in production and I've been made whole. I actually have gotten used to the soft top, but I still can't wait for the enhanced security and (presumably) quiet of a shell.

After waiting almost three years from order date to delivery of the Bronco itself, this was a walk in the park. Ford toughened me up for times like these.

I’m in the same boat as you. My Anderson white hardtop has an ETA of April and I should be among the first to receive a white hardtop from Turn around the same time.

This smells like a Ponzi scheme to me. As long as new orders are greater than cancellations you wil get your money back. As soon as that changes they will stop answering the phone and leave everyone empty handed. I’d cancel now while I still could.

Some folks REFUSE to admit they may have made a mistake, no matter what it may cost them. They have to stand behind their bad decision, which means defending their scammer.

I've been trying to shout this from the mountain top from the beginning. Them and AR, thoug AR eventually delivers, but if they say 6 weeks, it will most likely be 6+ months.

This is why legit businesses get investors to help cover the cost of development, there is a risk involved. In this situation, there was never an upside to the risk. Some "Investors" may recover zero of their investment if/when shit goes bad.
It went bad about 12 months ago.

I guess this is the "Bronco thing". Top scams.
The classic Bronco community had a soft top scammer YEARS ago.

The internet is a wonderful tool for research, just sayin'....

Google user name SaddleUp over at ClassicBroncos.com. Just seeing that name here from time to time still makes my stomach turn.

Google ADV's old business name.

Enjoy the ride!
Send it!

oh wrong thread!

I’ll say this
At least with ar if you cancel they clip you a cancellation fee then sell full price to the next guy in the que

adv missed the boat
