Slide Out Tailgate Uses

I ordered an Everglades that comes with a slide out tailgate which I thought was a cool piece to get thrown in but now I'm thinking what am I really going to ever use it for. Kind of regretting not ordering the dual tops to get the soft top and get rid of the slide out tailgate.

What are practical uses that people have used the slide out tailgate for?

Does the slide out tailgate cover up the cargo area that normally would store the jack?

I use it for tailgating while surf fishing…Best Accessory Ever! To get to the storage, slide it out then lift the deck. There are threads on here with photos…

I find it very useful when loading my dogs in and out of the car. Don't have to reach into the car and overextended my back. Also use it for tailgating and when cleaning my top.

I store a recovery rope, soft shackles, hard shackles, and a few other odds and ends in the area under the deck.

The slide out tailgate is really cool. I am tempted to add one later myself.
It is one of those accessories that I would find myself using a lot.

I want one, just cannot justify the price! Waiting to I find a nice sale, then I am all over it.
That said I will probably bite the bullet and just buy one. I know I would use it as I sit in the back of my Bronco all the time. Lots of other things I would use it for as well.

They come standard on all MY 24 Heritages, so if you have a '24 ordered you are good to go.

Unless it was ordered with dual tops. Then it is not available, like with the Everglades.

Yea, I noticed that. Oh well, got a 2023. Still wouldn't mind getting the tailgate. No rear cup holders either...

Not a cheap option but a pretty useful one. We use it a lot on the beach, tailgating and picnicking. Also makes a great bench. As Rspayde said you have more room under the deck to store things.

Well my dumb ass forgot to mention I solely got it because it helped to level the back so I can sleep in the bronco while camping.

This paired with an @deepsleep Overland mattress is A1.
