What's also strange is that there STILL isn't any video showing the sound deadening head liner, unless I'm wrong?!
Nope, you haven’t missed anything.

The myth of the elusive headliner lives on!

I for one would have kept my order if they just once leveled with everyone. Even knowing it would not be made at their shop. After they supposedly got the gasket material (in April?) and didn’t deliver everything else was a lie. When TOR made it on the scene it was a no brainer. Kinda like giving lunch money to the school bully I’d never be able to look at myself in the mirror, no way were ADV getting my $$$.
I feel the same here. Yes, they answered all of my check in emails, and it was really hard to see that timeline and how spread out they were, yet still here we all are waiting on the same news.

As I said earlier, the communication strategy was abysmal here. Sure, more info was given about revisions in the last video. How does that square with the other excuses of labor shortages and supply chain problems? Either way you slice it, facts were concealed and people were deceived.

Will they get the tops out? They have to at this point, or the whole place goes under so they will. But, any brand equity they wanted to build with this top solution is kaput.

What was it 30 days before shipping there would be an install video? If they finally stick to something it would push out group one by a few weeks more. Who knows anymore. On a positive note I haven’t heard of a cargo ship from China sinking or losing cargo in the news.

Really do hope you guys who stick it out get a quality top. I very much wish I could get a one piece myself.

edit: getting stuff of ships does take way longer than expected sometimes so no need to panic. No matter what they say at this point it won’t help. You will all probably simply have a truck in driveway in a few weeks with no notice 😂

Illusions of a product or service, to be delivered, if only you pay in full, up front.

A fool and his money are soon parted!

(I'm running a year end special for 2024 Home Remodeling, pay up front, in full, and we promise, we really will deliver, really.
Please venmo your payment in full to fools@bilked ventures.)

Oooh. Pressure tactics lol.

A price drop seems more appropriate given the current situation. Plenty of dumb people on FB and IG who will probably jump on it though, not knowing the full scope of ADV shadiness. The top would have to be 10 dB quieter and 15 degrees cooler/warmer and support 500 lbs. to justify the already $2k premium over the TOR, let alone another increase. In fact, everyone who has waited 12+ months should be getting free shipping. TORs shipping rates are 50%-75% lower and they are not "flat packed" requiring assembly. Shyster is about the kindest term I can call ADV ownership at this point.
I patiently stayed with ADV since June and even defended them on this forum, but finding out the tops are made offshore (most likely China) was the last straw for me. It's not just that they are made offshore, but I believe they have been stealthy about this and the real reason for the delays is spooling up overseas production. I was already on TORs list, so I canceled and went with TOR for a Feb delivery. So far the communication and experience has been outstanding, and I'm liking the looks of their top, especially the aluminum mounting points for top carrier compatible with OEM. I could care less about a rear wiper/heater, so this was a non-issue for me.

Turns rear wiper is supposedly coming soon as an add-on option. I’m sure it’ll be sometime this year and at a reasonable price, if we can go by their current top release timeline and pricing. Never really know til it happens but Turn gives me more confidence with their overall hardtop experience in the Jeep world.

Starting to wonder who is in charge of the Advance marketing department. I mean they were sure to put out the price increase email, and even then they did not have info on the hardtop increase...it would seem they would be more diligent in giving the people who have purchased some better info.

I reached out to ADV today to inquire about the infamous install video and to see if they were still expecting to ship on schedule.
Here's the responses I got:

The install video will be out before you receive your hardtop. You are a part of Batch 1, which starts shipping in mid-January and will be fulfilled before Batch 2 starts shipping in mid-February. You are closer to the end of Batch 1, so your order will most likely ship closer to the end of Jan into Feb.

KJBEGGS, finally your willpower broke and you had to contact them LOL, I think you had said you were a sept order, Im first 30minutes of inception. waaay back in feb 2022. I admit, I also broke down Friday and asked about the updated email that was to be sent within 30 days of the November announcement. I was told everything is on schedule for middle of January , Im at the very front of the shipment list. relax, as soon as I get notified I will post it on the forum. after all this time, its just a few more weeks and we will be getting our tops . the reason they didnt send out a updated email was people were out for the holiday.
at this point really all I care about is they start shipping in January. I missed another waterfowl season without a hardtop, hopefully I will be driving upstate NY in easter nice a quite in a hardtop. STAY CALM IIKE ME

LOL, I'm calm. One more delay is all it will take for me to make the TOR jump though.
The more I think about-
Not having to assemble the top myself.
TOR's reduced number of potential leak/noise points.
TOR's openness in these forums
Savings of around $2k

So those of us who saw through the smoke and mirrors early on, and got bashed for pointing out there were no marketing or project management skilled people at ADV, let alone the joke of pay in full up front, and were bashed for our opinions, glad to see some are now singing a different tune.
