ADV Production Modular Hardtop!

I reached out to ADV today to inquire about the infamous install video and to see if they were still expecting to ship on schedule.
Here's the responses I got:

The install video will be out before you receive your hardtop. You are a part of Batch 1, which starts shipping in mid-January and will be fulfilled before Batch 2 starts shipping in mid-February. You are closer to the end of Batch 1, so your order will most likely ship closer to the end of Jan into Feb.

KJBEGGS, finally your willpower broke and you had to contact them LOL, I think you had said you were a sept order, Im first 30minutes of inception. waaay back in feb 2022. I admit, I also broke down Friday and asked about the updated email that was to be sent within 30 days of the November announcement. I was told everything is on schedule for middle of January , Im at the very front of the shipment list. relax, as soon as I get notified I will post it on the forum. after all this time, its just a few more weeks and we will be getting our tops . the reason they didnt send out a updated email was people were out for the holiday.
at this point really all I care about is they start shipping in January. I missed another waterfowl season without a hardtop, hopefully I will be driving upstate NY in easter nice a quite in a hardtop. STAY CALM IIKE ME

LOL, I'm calm. One more delay is all it will take for me to make the TOR jump though.
The more I think about-
Not having to assemble the top myself.
TOR's reduced number of potential leak/noise points.
TOR's openness in these forums
Savings of around $2k

I patiently stayed with ADV since June and even defended them on this forum, but finding out the tops are made offshore (most likely China) was the last straw for me.

Starting to wonder who is in charge of the Advance marketing department.

So those of us who saw through the smoke and mirrors early on, and got bashed for pointing out there were no marketing or project management skilled people at ADV, let alone the joke of pay in full up front, and were bashed for our opinions, glad to see some are now singing a different tune.

Of course not, the stickers would be made in China as well, but they have to be "attached" in the US to claim the product is "Made in the US".

Wait for the Chinese knockoffs to be sold for a quarter to half of ADV's price.

Of course not, the stickers would be made in China as well, but they have to be "attached" in the US to claim the product is "Made in the US".

Kinda like the OEM rack cost vs the knock-offs costs. Half the price at most. I imagine there will be a knock-off at some point and ADV will have shot themselves in the foot and not even be able to claim superiority as a USA made product.

Once ADV places their product in China for production, the China plant manager's brother's cousin will copy the design and resell them, possibly even from the same factory.

Just keep your eye on Alibaba, once there, resellers will have them on Amazon and Ebay.

I could have sworn the paperwork in the box says it's made somewhere in California. Or maybe it was just designed.

True, and my post was in no way meant to justify ADVs marketing these tops as USA made.
It was more to point out that Made in China doesn't necessarily mean crap, any more than Made in USA automatically means quality...
