Apologies if this has already been asked, but I did search first

Has anyone been able to track down a replacement wiper blade for the hardtop rear? If not, what's the size of the blade, and maybe I can just try out something similar? I asked my dealer and they said "we can't order them", which seems ridiculous.

Thanks,
Brad

I purchased a few different ones online that didn’t fit (even though they said they would work).

I ended up getting one on eBay. Search for:
Ford Motorcraft WW-801-A

Motorcraft 801-A from Rockauto.com
I've heard mixed reports on postings regarding rockauto. Their prices seem cheap enough. What's been your experience with them?

I was playing with the idea of exotic rainx SUV and Truck (premium) blades, about $36/each at Amazon. But I can get all three for $49 at Rockauto, very persuasive. So at those prices, I can get four fronts plus a single rear (which should last).

Thoughts?

I'll sell you mine, I've never used the rear wiper!

I’ve been using them for almost 15 years. No issues at all. Almost always significantly less for equivalent parts. The only negative for me is having to pay shipping on returns.

Mixed reports?
I've used them for a long time without any issues. They deliver the parts I order in a timely manner.

They usually aren't the cheapest means for one item because of shipping costs, but when needing several things they usually beat Amazon or any local parts stores.

I thought it might be that, but looked up the specs and doesn't seem to be it. The 7-speed is rated for 550 lb-ft, and 2.7L is only outputting around ~400 lb-ft.

I imagine it's simply because the 2.3L was already mated with the manual transmission in the past for the Mustang, as well as multiple vehicles Ford sells overseas such as the Ranger. Much of the engineering work was already done for other vehicles, so it made sense.

Probably also the same reason why Jeep only offers the manual with the old V-6 Pentastar and not their newer I-4 turbo. Manual is a low take-rate option these days (much to my dismay), so they're going to try to simplify and optimize the finances across product lines.

I use Rock Auto all the time- I buy a lot of parts from them. I rarely have any issues- you just need to know what you are ordering and read the descriptions and codes very carefully to assure you are ordering the right part. I have had only 2 returns in like 10 or more years and thousands of dollars spent in auto parts. I have saved so much $$$ over the years on Auto parts buying from them.

Back to the point about wipers- I bought 2 replacement front wiper blades from them for my Bronco. I think they were Anco, I can't really remember the brand- I paid not a lot- like $6 or $7 each for them. I threw them in with another larger order and they were in the same warehouse so shipping was pretty much free. I took a gamble on them. They mounted different than the factory blades but work perfectly! My old ones were going on 3 years and they started shuddering.
