JTopsUSA® is excited to announce after waiting over
a year Ford® has finally granted us an official license to use the BRONCO LOGO! (We do have to pay a royalty, they get a piece of everything)

Some vendors may ignore the rules be we do things by the book and it was critical to honor their trademarked intellectual property.

For now It’s only available on two of our most popular flags with red logo and on all solid color mesh with white and black logos.

Plus it’s on sale NOW for our Black Friday sale through November 28th.

No coupons needed)

Nice. Any plans of using the trim logos?

How about some type of sun shade style back storage shade just to keep things from blowing around or simply seen very easy. We all don’t want a metal enclosure in the back.

Something like this?

https://accessories.ford.com/bronco-4dr-2021-fixed-lid-cargo-area-enclosure-1

I also got a large black towel and just cover up whatever I have, it's real hard to see that in the dark through the back windows. And having the towel has come in a handy a couple times already. lol

No sir. Just something as simple and easy to remove like a sunshade. Flat across the back just like the roll up vinyl type. I just don’t want a hatchback cover for a Bronco

Ok…so this seems to be a common theme among after market items.

This sunshade is “on sale” for $400. As a manufacturer, why such a huge markup?

let’s say each unit costs (super high estimate) $100 to produce and a $25 licensing fee to Ford for the “Bronco” branding. So $125 cost. There are 2 options:

- Sell a FEW at a huge markup and make a $275 profit on each
- Sell a BUNCH of them at a lower price ($200) and make $75 profit on each.

is there a problem with handling the volume when selling for a lower profit?

It is not just this vendor/product. LED lights, floor mats, I’ve even seen a flat metal bar to mount accessories on the dash for the low low price of $200!!!!

i get it, you gotta pay to play, but it seems these manufacturers would move a heck of a lot more units and make their money from a higher sales volume.

Maybe I am just old and cranky? :)

Interesting evaluation, here are a few things that might have been overlooked

First our product cost way more than $100 to make. We manufacture a high quality products here in the USA and pay our employees a livable wage. Each shade can take up to 3 hours to make depending on the model and prints can take longer.

Plus we don't make a simple cheap bungee shade, we make an engineered solution backed up by top notch customer service.

Oh the Ford royalties...all I will say is your way off!

Then we have the issue of the rent for a large infrastructure required to house manufacturing. We also have the cost of all sorts of equipment including 8 professional computerized sewing stations, a large format digital cutter, embroidery equipment, packing and shipping stations. The printer alone cost over $200,000.00, it's a 2020 VUTEk wide format LED commercial printer that don't come cheap. A large space is required to store materials and inventory. Then to top it all off we have to insure everything and carry product liability Insurance.

Selling more at a cheaper price sounds good but we sell to a limited market. There are a finite number of Broncos and Jeeps. Plus the product would have to use lower quality materials to reduce cost. We learned early its not wise to race to the bottom and sell an inferior product. You can find all sorts of cheap Chinese bungee tops on Amazon if that's what you're looking for.

So by the time we are done we only wish we could make $275 a shade. If we did I could have an assistant answer this and I would not have to work 7 days a week.

But I will say the last 10 years we have been in business has truly been an incredible journey and I would not trade the experience for anything!

Yes buy a Chinese bungee shade for $40 that they ship to the US and make a killing on. Cheap junk to put on your $70,000 or more Bronco. Enjoy the flapping!
It's so easy go for it!

Was truly not meant as an attack on your product, company, or the work your employees do. Sounds like it comes down to a lot of overhead that adds up to an expensive product. Thanks for the explanation.

For those flaming me... watch this.... I've been schooled. See how that works? I raised what I thought was a valid point, stated my case, was explained (politely) why I was wrong, and have admitted I was wrong. If only that were the case for many other forums out there.
