Backup Camera and Android Auto Freezing after 4.2.2 update

Having several issues after the 4.2.2 update on 9/8. The only other change was Procal tune install last weekend.
-Backup Camera turns on and the image freezes for a few seconds before updating (dangerous).
- Android Auto seems to be a glitchy mess (Spotify freezes and disappears, lag when moving between apps, etc.)


Anyone else have problems recently?

mine updated to 4.2.2 2 days ago and yeah, new black screens. new stutters in AA and YT music. not awesome.

Good to know. My 12" screen also went black while driving yesterday and restarted. That's another 1st for me.

yes, full 12" screen black out, not just the AA part, no controls responding, a first time for me as well. Only a vehicle restart brought it back, not the usual 2 button Ford Sync restart.

Yes, I’ve had issues with the backup camera freezing and also issues with Spotify and Google maps. My favorite is the weird freezing sound that scares my young kids.

You mean the loud buzzing sound that comes from the speakers when the system freezes? Forgot about this one. This also happens occasionally after the recent updates (mainly when using Spotify).

exact same thing is happening to me. Back up camera freezers (much more than a few seconds). I need to turn car off and open doors to reset

I got the 4.2.3 update on 10/7, and have been having the backup camera and Spotify (streamed via wireless Carplay) freeze very regularly.

Its jarring when the music freezes because it makes a loud screeching/skipping noise for a moment. And it's not a great feeling when the camera stops working after 1 second after shifting into reverse.

Yep. That sounds is terrifying haha. I've simply stopped using android auto until they figure it out. It functioned perfectly until the recent updates.

Backup Camera - Started going black rather than freezing with an image. I have to shift out of reverse and back to get an image to pop up.

Noticed some big time issues with Android auto this morning. Went to respond to a text and the whole thing just froze up, cut off music, then black screen.

Reverted me back to the main menu and just stayed there. Music did play through after the initial headache.

Also switched to the Pixel 8 pro and have randomly experienced weak connections not sure if that is a phone thing or an update issue. Is super random when it does happen and is impossible to replicate consistently.

Any change on this? I've been experiencing something similar where it seems any activation of camera feed (backup or 360) stutters my android auto connection and causes the annoying (painful?) loud audio static blip until it gets back to normal. It seems to have become increasingly frequent, though it's hard to say for sure.

I also just started having that jarring audible stutter noise in AA when activating the backup camera. I second dropouts are 10x mode regular. Disconnects at least one in 5 or 6 drives now. I really appreciate they locked out reconnecting while moving now. Neat.
