Personally got a TrailRax. The reason why is because I wanted to filp back and forth between a half-rack and full rack depending on the particular situation, and a good 80% of the components on the TrailRax half rack is identical to the TrailRax full rack.

So I bought a full rack using the Bronco Nation discount (I believe they have a similar discount here on B6G), and then I emailed the guys over at @TrailRax to see if they would do a custom order for me just to send me the components that are different between the full rack and half rack. They were awesome and agreed to put together a custom "upgrade kit" for me... and now I can switch back and forth between the two at will.

No pictures to share unfortunately, I took off the roof rack a few weeks ago to seal and ceramic coat my hard top (jury is still out on if that was worth it). And admittedly I have zero experience with the RCI roof rack... or any of their products for that matter. So can't really do much comparing/contrasting. But I am absolutely happy with my Trailrax rack.

I'm leaning towards the RCI if their Labor Day sale is decent.

Edit: Maybe TrailRax has a better Labor Day sale coming?

I am considering installing a half rack to my four door with the side panels.

Any thoughts or experience on which you like better? Would appreciate the insight.

TrailRax?

RCI?

below are a couple of photos of my current build:

I am happy with my RCI 4 door full rack I just put on 2 days ago. I was strongly considering the trail rax. It was the front fairing on the RCI that swayed me to get the RCI. Seems like a better design to me. I don't like how the bottom of the trail rax has that arch at the bottom of of the fairing just above the window line. The RCI lines up straight over the window and continues that same angle...

RCI does also afford the option to leave the back half rack on and take the front off. The RCI back half sits right behind the back seat roof panel.

I like that, how do you like the side racks on the RCI? Do you have anything installed on them?

RCI has been great for me. Agree on front fairing if you decide to go full length. I like the reinforcement on side for RCI if holding decent weight and then removable to take top panels off. Also not too bad to go back and forth between full and half rack.

I think both are a Quality product so just depends on what you like looks and price wise.

I don’t have a rack on my Bronco, so I have no experience with either of these.

In case you haven’t read through the long RCI thread, there has been recent discussion about roof sag potentially due to the RCI rack. Starts on post #185 on page 13 (https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/rci-modular-roof-rack-now-available.55098/post-1968703). Looks like folks are starting to receive some type of bracket from RCI.

I think there might be a similar issue with the JCR rack. I haven’t read about it with the Trailrax rack.

Anyways, probably some good information to consider.

Wow, both of those are very pricy! If you want a much less expensive, but great option, look at Hooke Road on Amazon. I have their half rack on my Bronco and it worked great on a trip to Colorado a few weeks ago. I believe I paid less than $300

I looked at the Hooke and it looked good for the price. They won’t ship to Canada so that was a bit of a deal breaker…

I did read some feedback on the Hooke that there was a fair bit of wind noise. What has your experience been?

Nice rig by the way!

They are custom, the guy that did my tint and graphics designed them based on the mountains in the badlands emblems. It was my idea to put the sasquatch in it. I was really happy how they turned out!

Thank you! Thats strange, we have had no additional road noise since installing it. Even with the boxes and traction boards mounted we have no additional road noise.

Agree. Now if Hooke Road made side mounts for this half rack, they could sell hundreds.
