Mandatory front license plate bracket

According to my dealer here in New York, front license plate brackets are now coming installed straight from the factory. Anyone else hear the same that took delivery in the last few days?

I picked up mine yesterday and despite multiple reminders to not install the front license bracket this is how she was delivered. Dealer says that’s how it rolled off the transport truck.

Your dealer is full of shit! Many states don't even require a front plate!

Mine came a couple weeks ago and bracket was in the rear floor storage bin. I told them a mth ago that I didn’t want it attached!!

they do not come from the factory with that bracket installed. your dealer is not owning up to their own mistake

I received my bronco in early May with the plate bracket in a bag, sitting in the rear with the mats. I reminded them at least 3 or 4 times over months not to drill. I'm sure it's possible, but unlikely coming from the factory like that. Another member found some small plugs for the holes and painted them with touch up paint and they came out nice.

I call BS, in NJ which a front plate state and I asked them not to when I picked her up 2 weeks ago and they didn’t. No Way ford would take the time to do that when not all states require it IMO.

Drove plateless for years, one time I ever got a ticket was cause the cop had me on camera, couldnt just let me go so he had to give me a slap on the wrist.

Drove a plateless Mustang, Ram, and of course my girl, latter two tinted front windows, Ram full exhaust that sounds like your neighbors Harley starting up on the weekend with how loud it was and rock lights on at night, never even got glanced at by them

Definitely not factory installed. AZ doesn’t require it.

I was at the dealership last week (more recalls on my wife's Escape) as they were unloading newly delivered vehicles.

There were two Broncos on the truck, and neither of them had the front plant mount. I live in New England where front plates are required.

California also requires a front plate. Mine did NOT come with the bracket installed.
I told my dealer not to install it and they shockingly actually listened to me.
Anyway your dealer is lying. They just don't want to have to pay for a new body panel.

Colorado Bronco owner here......front plates required here. I hounded my dealer to NOT install the plate frame/mount and they listened. It was in a bag in the back of my Bronco when I took delivery.

Im in NY as well. Picked my Bronco up a few weeks ago, told the dealer not to put the plate on. He said no problem. When I was driving over to pick up the truck, he called and said "uh... my manager says I cant sell the truck without a plate on it." I asked if he could just tape it on - nope. So I said I would get a plate relocator and have them use that - he claimed it had to be the stock mount. What I got from this was that he just forgot, and they installed the plate before he could tell them not to - he did let my son pick out a Bronco baseball hat in compensation.

I have run without a plate for the last 12 years. Pulled over 3 time during that period. Three warnings and one ticket. the three warnings - cop admitted they just wanted to check out my car.
