For the 23's, if the Badlands is setup with 35's does it come with the HOSS 3.0? I know it will have all the skid plates, well at least my 21 does. But I went with a aftermarket suspension setup. (in sig).

Also does the Wildrtrack now automatically come with 35's and the HOSS setup? I have not kept up with what comes with what on the newer models.
I don't think Badlands gets HOSS 3.0, regardless of options. Wildtrak now does get it standard. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

OP didn't say which was the more expensive? Also aftermarket upgrades would be factored. My point is valid, depends on whether price is a factor. 🤷‍♂️
They are $3k apart in price. But that will be eaten up by adding sliders/armor/tow reciever on the Wildtrak, so really they are the same. The Wildtrak is 150 miles away, and the Badlands is 1800 miles away. The Badlands is black on black, my wife's preferred color, and the Wildtrak is red. I hate keeping black clean.

Oh, I've seen some Badlands well into the $70k's with ADM. At that point it's all relative. Just glad I got my order the way I wanted for $51k (SAS, High Package).

That being said, asking for other aficionados advice on the benefits of both is a solid strategy. I just don't think they'll be too displeased by either one, as long as the "sway bar disconnect doesn't bother me" bares out.
Yeah tbh I kinda wish I had ordered a Wildtrak w/ Lux as I have no plans to ever use a sway bar disconnect and like the all black sasquatch pack. My BL is $61,900 without sasquatch (plan to go my own wheels and BL is already lifted enough to run 35's if you remove the crash bar). So I didnt really save any money by going BL.

Oh I'd say red, the black paint curse is real. ✊ lol

I'd go Wildtrak and add armor. Aftermarket armor and sliders is going to be better than OEM anyways. You'll want the upgraded steering rack on the rocks.

I went with a Wildtrak. I originally wanted a badlands but the wildtrak was on the dealer lot and had everything I wanted/ needed. it seems that some badlands have issues with the sway bar disconnect. if it were to malfunction outside of the warranty I'm sure it would be very pricy to fix. I don't have Hoss 3.0 but have heard it is well worth it. I plan to upgrade shocks in the future. the wildtrak I drove at the off rodeo in TX did just fine. it didn't have any rock rails and it never bottomed out. the trail guide even had me go up the more challenging climb and I never felt that it needed sway bar disconnect.

Go with WildTrak. You’ll benefit from HOSS 3.0 every time you drive it the ride is way better. Swaybar disco can be done manually for a few times a year… and you’re less likely to break your tie rods or rack with WildTrak. No brainer

I think the badlands gets a steel rear bumper instead of the plastic, unless you get the modular front bumper (again, I believe this is how it works due to weight). Probably the best configuration would be a badlands with the fox hoss 3.0 shocks and upgraded steering rack if you're feeling spendy. That was my plan before i found my 22 wildtrak, and i'd still like to upgrade to the fox shocks.
Badlands with mod bumpers still come with steel rear bumpers, or at least mine did

I have the badlands/SAS with high package and love every bit of it. I have read several posts here about issues with the LUX package when off roading. Having to keep turning off most off it every time they turn the engine off. If not, all they hear are bells and whistles and alarms at every obstacle...rocks, trees, spotters, etc.

If you are not ordering one you really need to look at the build specs.

Bash plates show as an option on the Ford site.

I have a Badlands Sas Lux, when I ordered the price was identical with the badlands having the disco. Wildtrak did not have the 3.0 then. So the badlands was a no brainer.

Ordering today the Wildtrak, is about 1k difference when optioned the same. It comes down to if you want a stonger rack and tie rod ends or a disco.

To me, the Wildtrak with a manual disco added would be my preference for the Hoss 3.0.

I see a lot of people complaining about the soft ride, that is one of the things I like about it. Having 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, it sure is nice to have a softer ride.

The HOSS 3.0 is pretty nice. That rear sway bar makes it handle on curvy roads a lot better. Twice after cruises, folks with a Badlands told me they were amazed by how easy it made it around corners while theirs bucked and swayed. I took it to a diamond rated trail, it killed it. I left both sways on, when I go back, I'll remove the rear and see if it changes anything. Sooner or later, I'll drop the 100 bucks and buy the quick disconnect set up for the front to gain the extra 4 inches of travel. (that's me rolling my eyes)

The road to that ORV park was a really potted rutted gravel road 7 miles long. I took off first. I tried to keep it under 40, saw higher speeds a few times. It just floated over stuff I would have driven around in my Jeep to keep from crushing my spine. lol. The other guys got up the parking lot a bit later. They commented that they saw 40 mph once or twice. ;)

I like the softer/compliant ride - one of the reasons I'm switching from the JLU Rubicon. We tow our fifth wheel with an old semi, so I get enough "truck" experience every day we move. I'm heading out Friday to get the Wildtrak, and unless it dissapoints, that's gonna be what we end up with. I'll add sliders/skids and figure out the manual disconnect. I think I've seen some aftermarket solutions for it. I think the HOSS 3.0 and steering rack are worth it.

I believe all SAS equipped models get the rear sway, although that could be different on 2 door models.

The main difference as everyone has pointed out is the HOSS 3.0 and swaybar disco. What is more important to you? Most of the other things are cosmetic and bumpers are pretty easy to change. I went from a '21 BL to a '23 WT and yes the HOSS 3.0 makes a big difference. The swaybar disco wasn't important to me because I wasn't going rock climbing, I'm much more subdued off the road, I don't think I ever engaged the disco.

BTW, the WT in black looks great.
