How can I add my KC HiLights (
2" C-Series C2 LED - 2-Light System - Backup - 20W Flood Beam) to my Bronco’s reverse lights?

I’ve already installed them and ran the wires to the front Aux 6 wire and they workperfectly.

I now would like to add them to my reverse lights. What are my options? Also yesterday I installed the 4 Pin Curt Trailer Hitch wiring harness. Can I tap off that?

Need some guidance.

TIA

OP my honest assessment here is keep them on your AUX or a dedicated switch that you activate when they’re necessary.

No need to have them activate in a parking lot or roadway to make simple maneuvers and possibly impair other drivers vision.

Also send @4x4TruckLEDs.com a message and they can do a custom harness for you.
We actually sell complete kits with lights/harnesses

We also make 2-3 pigtails depending on the light needs

First, this is our reverse in-line connector. It plugs in-line with your tail lights and gives you a Weatherpack 2-pin connector to plug into whatever you want:

Then we also have our upfitter/reverse harness. This basically is a wire ran from the front upfitters to the rear of the truck, that plugs into TWO lights. It also has a connection to connect our IN-LINE connector (above) to. We make 2 varients of it

DT-2 Pin, which has a 2-Pin DT connector on it for lights such as Rigid, KC, etc...:

And then our WP-2 Pin version, which has connections for Baja Designs

On our reverse harnesses again they connect to the upfitter, run to the back of the truck and plug into 1 pair of lights. And then there is another connector (2-pin WP) that we left which connects to our in-line connector.

The benefit to our reverse harnesses is that IF you turn on your lights from an upfitter it WILL NOT back-feed your factory circuit.

Thanks for the information from all. What's the damage caused when a the up fitter engages and back-feeds the factory circuit?

It turns your factory circuit on... which means if you plan to use those reverse lights as chase lights (throw an amber cover on them) you're back feeding the factory circuit.

Not to mention it's never a good idea to back-feed a factory circuit.

I tapped into the reverse light wire located INSIDE the cargo area, that way you're not having to route it through the outside of the truck like some harnesses require. I can power mine via the reverse light, the Aux switch, or a switch I installed in the cargo area.

Oh and to answer your previous question, yea you have to install diodes in series with each of your power sources to prevent that back-feed voltage, not hard at all and they were super cheap on amazon. Someone also mentioned blinding someone inadvertently when backing up, I also installed a switch on the side of my dash, so when I am backing up, I can turn it off so I don't blind the person behind me. You can't see it when sitting in the drivers seat but its super easy to find.

I’ve already run the lights to the front and frankly don’t want them going all the time in reverse. It was more of looking for a solution without a problem. I need a cheaper hobby. But do like your setup.

I’ve decided to add the KC backup lights to my reverse lights. I’m thinking I’ll tap into the cargo area wire like you. What diode did you use from Amazon? I know it’s been a while but any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
