I think OBX w/ Sasquatch is sort of the best of both worlds in terms of appearance and capability., which is why I went that route. Sure, it doesn't have the electronic disconnect but I really didn't need that.

The roast interior was big factor as well.

Love the paint detail on the grill. How do you like the FP shocks? What was your lift gain (I know it is marketed as 2")? Overall feel for the ride?

Those wheels are freakin awesome….
Thanks, they are just my factory sasquatch wheels powder coated bright silver. I'm not a fan of black/dark wheels you loose all definition with them. Plus silver has that nod to the first gen.

If the WildTrak is turn-key everything you want, it's hard to beat the value (and the fact that it is all under factory warranty).

Totally understand, but I tend to do all my own work. $20k will buy a whole ton of upgrades.

This is actually my girlfriend's Bronco, and the only reason she was holding out for the WildTrak was the seats to be honest (which aren't even as nice as the OBX seats). I promised to get her the Bronco embroidered into the head rests and to retrofit Adaptive Cruise Control, and that's all she really wanted from the WildTrak Lux vs the OBX High package. She will do fine with me putting in a suspension, steering rack, with rims and tires later. I also have a spare FDU and 4.7 gears if she really wants to get crazy with it later.
Sounds like a ton of fun getting your gf's rig how you guys like it. I'm perfectly happy with the WT and all the creature comforts that come with it.

Enjoy your rig!

I choose to order my 21 Lux Outerbanks Sasquatch because of the roast leather, painted handles and mirrors.

I added standard painted Outerbanks flares and I love it!

I've had two OBX's, but my second one, the SAS'd Obx with the high package and 6cyl is the bomb! Not sure how I would have liked the others, but wouldn't have turned it down as I was desperate to find a replacement truck after my first was totaled. They found me my current truck up in Wisconsin as I live down in North Carolina.

I joined several message boards since i bought my badlands in January. For me this was a walk-in purchase so i didn't know much about the different trims, or the ordering process. Nowadays, on several bronco online forums, i notice that most new bronco purchases are outer banks. Just wondering what makes this trim so popular?

Edit:
Thanks to everyone who responded. Its pretty clear the outer banks is the first trim where you can get better interior options, plus painted handles, mirrors, etc ... I guess realistically, it has the most common appeal.

For me, i needed ruggedness and durability on my interiors due to kids and dog. The badlands with mgv, rubber floors seemed to fit the bill. Mine has no options (or as i call them, things my kids will damage) and suits me perfectly. (Plus it's manual, so it cuts down on people wanting to drive it! Lol!). I honestly would've gotten like a RAV4 or Honda pilot if the ford dealer only had a bronco in stock with a "nice" interior. I'm happy with how things turned out.

The off road capabilities have been a bonus and helped me discover a new hobby i had never considered. Thanks again everyone! Happy trails!
Probably the sick badges...

Honestly, the Outer Banks seems like them most bang for your buck. You’re getting a very capable vehicle with a good number of creature comforts at what I think is a reasonable price, or at least I thought that way when I bought mine.

It's popular as a "default lot order" because it's one of the easiest builds with the most built in profit.

I personally think it's one of the worst deals, since it forces you into taking an automatic transmission and a bunch of electronic "features" that in generally I'd probably pay good money to eliminate, but apparently some people actually want that stuff.

I chose OBX because the only off-roading I'm doing is the beaches (which mine does great at) and I wanted the roast interior and lux package. I originally wanted to go for the Black Diamond, but realistically knew I wasn't going to utilize many of the off-road features. Eventually I would like to make some mods to make a it look a bit tougher, but I'm honestly very happy with my choice.

It is the first trim that has access to the HIGH/LUX package. And it also has unique interior - only can get the Roast/Luna interior (cloth or leather) on the OBX. The painted bits (flares (non Sasquatch), mirror caps, door handles) also a selling point.
This is it exactly. And I’ll throw out it’s the adaptive cruise control of the lux that increases it the most from those packages. This comes standard on many cars now if you’re getting above the base level so people have grown to love it. And here you gotta really work to get it as an option.
