It was really telling when the 11 minute video was really a rant on your $350 supportsAmerica not going down the drain and nothing about why their bushing is superior. Or 700% better.
So the problem is that he was first to market and set the price. But since it's just a bushing and nothing innovative the competition will catch up and then what is BB going to do? Drop the price and piss off all the people who paid the original price?

I hope he made enough of the initial sales because it's going to dry up fast. Well, except for the tears.

Here are a few BB pictures, one is HOSS 3.0 the other is HOSS 1.0. If rough country comes with a snap ring that is easily removable then they are a design improvement. I strongly encourage people to buy a drivers bushing as there first modification.

Homie is pissed. Apparently America is officially dead and I’m the sole reason why. But is it really a lost sale if I can’t afford $350 hence why I’ve never purchased it? If this thing was $199 or $150 I would have already purchased it, but 700% more for plastic that could probably be 3D printed at this point?
I've made it a personal goal to keep bashing other companies to a minimum, but BB stresses that goal for me. This video had the opposite of the intended effect on me. If I ever pull a stunt like this somebody call me out please.

I bought your tie rod trail repair kit. I could have sourced everything myself and put it together. But you had a great price (I probably would have only saved a few bucks with DIY) and I was able to support a sponsor. I wish BB had the same mentality. I sourced my own body lift kit. It was $40 total instead of $450 or whatever they charge. They didn't raise a stink about that

BB said in the video he did initial testing with Lite Bright. I'm not too worried about them. Lite Bright should be able to hook them up with an alternate source of revenue.

Just to be clear I will not pay to see Tyler naked.

Because it’s likely not better. It’s not made out of some magical super plastic that only Americans have access to. It was an 11 minute guilt trip. I was already likely never going to buy anything from them anyway but their video solidified my previous decision to not support them.

I don't think this is bashing a company, personally BroncBuster has good customer service and a great product. It's more like poor choice of advertising campaign and branding. Rough country customer service knows nothing about cars so it's crappy to deal with.

If bb offered a 20% military discount I would have bought one 2 years ago. He had a monopoly for a few years which he appeared to be enjoying, nothing wrong there, I just wasn’t willing to support it. I hope he continues to innovate improvements for the bronco but offer them at reasonable prices this time.

I just mean from the perspective of being the face of another company in this field, I don't want to put others down while promoting my brand.

After dragging vets into his sob story, a military discount would be a great move.

3D printing of plastic is around 5ksi strength allowables so must keep that in mind when expecting this part to save our steering racks. Not sure the loads but injection molded or machined from solid plastic will probably be 25ksi-ish

Short answer is no, you can't 3D print this piece. Well, you can. It won't last until the end of your driveway...

RC part (Delrin plastic):

Delrin, also known as Polyoxymethylene (POM), is a high-performance acetal resin with several desirable physical and mechanical properties. This highly-crystalline engineered thermoplastic is widely regarded for its durability, stiffness, and exceptional dimensional stability.

What is Delrin? One of the more popular plastic material choices we offer for injection molding and machining is Delrin acetal homopolymer (Polyoxymethylene POM)

BroncBushing (acetal plastic):

The main distinctions between Delrin and other acetal plastics stem from its composition as a homopolymer—it has a uniform crystalline structure rather than one incorporating multiple subunits. This leads to better properties in select areas—such as higher stiffness, flex fatigue resistance, and creep resistance—when compared to copolymers. Overall, Delrin offers slight but measurable benefits in terms of mechanical strength.

One negative characteristic specific to Delrin over other acetal plastics is its increased centerline porosity—an inconsistency in the center of the plastic caused by gas escape in the cooling process. While not a concern when the center of a rod is to be drilled out, this property can be problematic in certain food and medical related applications as centerline porosity increases the risk of bacterial growth.

Here’s the main takeaway: While Delrin does have some distinguishing properties, acetal plastics share enough in common that they are often interchangeable based on budget and other project-specific characteristics.

IMHO:

They are basically the same in the end and equally capable "in this application"

OK...I take my engineering hat for a moment:

Yes I would most definitely prefer to buy American developed/fabricated but it is becoming more and more challenging to do so :( My roof top tent is a spectacularly quality product and once I was at the local facility to do the deal, only then did I learn it's made in China. They'd opened a factory and did not just outsource to someone random. Nonetheless I held my purchase and accepted the reality. Yes I would buy BB at a higher price to keep my business here/local, support their hard work, etc but for a plastic part (regardless) of it's use @ $350 is pretty steep. I had to research suspension components for SAS and even the strut itself was a bit over $200. I'd buy the BB part in the $1XX range but $350 is just not acceptable. Sure it's important and solves a precise issue, but that is not a reason to gouge our wallets.
