Wiper control speed issues URGENT SAFETY

Well you can count me in. I had my first rainstorm in my brand new Bronco. And I had the slow wiper issue too. It started downpouring. I turned them on to full regular (not full high, not intermittent). About 2 minutes later, the wipers start slowing down. On their own. And it's still raining hard! I watched them slow down to almost a complete stop! I was still driving, so I turned them off, and back on again. 2 minutes later, same thing! Really?? Am I to believe they are designed that way? What a disappointment. I'm like..........NOW what It's bad enough I'm already waiting for a new transmission for my brand new Bronco......now this? I don't know what to think.

Took mine to the dealer today. They came back and said Ford said it is normal and is part of their smart technology to save the windshield. I said it’s pouring rain when they stop. This is going to be a serious issues soon

Experienced this yesterday. Drove through heavy, obscuring, rain and sleet. The wipers slowed down, and even though I couldn't see through the windshield, they still were only wiping ever 3-4 seconds.

If I clicked it back off that speed, and back on, it would resume the normal fast wipe for a while before it happened again.

Some of the lower settings remained consistent, but wasn't enough to be safe. I basically drove with one hand on the wiper control, backing it down and up to re-trigger it.

This happened to me as well. Every time they slowed down when on full regular, I would turn them up to full high for a second and then back down to full regular. After about 4 or 5 of these, my wipers seemed to stay on. It is a pain in the arse to have to do this. The next rain storm I hit I will see if this works again or if it was just a fluke. But either way, it is just dangerous to have your wipers stop when you really need them.

Strange- my wipers were having this issue before (23 WT). Today I drove nearly 4 hours in a pretty hard rain and the wipers never slowed. Had them on fast and slow continuous the whole time. Never once had to mess with them. Have done nothing to fix the issue.
My rear passenger window did roll down on its own once though!

Sounds like you have your wipers on auto mode… where sensors monitor what’s on the windshield and speed/slow wipers accordingly. Keep moving the wiper lever… you’ll get the standard slow and fast mode eventually

Had this issue since new. Did the latest over the air update last week and now working as intended. Will report back of something changes.

I take it back. Worked properly for a bit then started doing to again.

Happened to me several times. Only way to fix it was to shut them off then back on

My dealer just confirmed/documented the wiper issue with my Bronco. They want to replace the wiper motors. I live in the Rainy City, so this is a massive issue for me.

Has replacing the motor fixed the issue for anyone? Is there any updated part numbers/revisions I should verify?

Having just returned from a 1700 mile trip in my 60-day-old Badlands, I found that I have the defective wipers just as other have described here. While driving through a snow/sleet/slush storm the wipers defaulted to intermittent regardless of my speed or conditions. They only slowed down from there. It started on the interstate and is truly a safety hazard. I had to constantly toggle the wipers on-off-on for nearly 2 hours.
Additionally, on the same trip, my IP twice displayed "hood ajar" while traveling 75+ MPH
@Ford Motor Company Is this really Job 1 ?

Which dealer? My dealer told me they never heard of this issue and printed off the Ford message about their "smart" (dumb) sensing wiper motor. I'd love to get this dangerous issue taken care of before I get in or cause an accident.
