Thanks. I had a vision for it so hopefully I can execute it properly. The trans am belongs to a friend. I recommended the body shop to him. It has a built LS, full suspension/brakes, 17” snowflakes, factory gold with no t-tops. It’ll be nice when done.
nice... sounds like a great build... one of my bucket list cars, for sure!!

You know what they say, size matters and in this case that extra inch or two just might break it.

I bought a 40 and mocked it up. It would have required more lift and probably a diff drop to keep the CV joints in a good place. Not trying to go that route.

It was expensive. First of all, I’m in LA and everything body and paint costs more. The shop I use is my go to for my classics and new cars. They have a 66 U13 of mine that’s undergoing a full frame off restoration.

I say all that for context. They do quality work and I trust them. When I first called them and asked they guessed $150-$200 per flare. Ended up being $375 per flare. A lot more labor than they originally thought to get them perfectly smooth. They didn’t charge me for the grille. But I’d do it again as it’s completely changed the look of the bronco. They also applied a heavy amount of clear for protection.
I’m also in LA and looking for someone for paint and body on a ’68. Mind sharing who the body shop is?

How are the 4.70 gears working out? Auto or manual? I have the max tire kit sitting in a drawer but I’m not sure how big of a tire I want to step up to. I’m thinking just 37’s but your‘s sure looks good. I just need it to work correctly as well.

Great so far! 2.7 Auto. I do not drive it on the street with these tires, trailer queen when headed to the trails. Max tire kit is a must and the correct wheel offset.

Dirt Logic coil overs.
How do these ride compared to factory? One person posted about the Eibach coil overs and was very impressed with them.
I want to go coil over for a slight lift to get 35s under mine but I do not want to give up my ride quality. I also can't spend $4k for some of these kits when mine does not see enough off-road time to justify that much expense.

EDIT: Which lift/coil overs did you use? The only thing on the fabtech site is the upper control arm and the puck lift. Thanks.

I’m curious about the dirt logics as well. Fabtec/dirt logic is supposed to come out with a 4.5” kit soon. If I can’t make the Eibachs work then this kit will be a consideration.
If you’re not planning any hardcore off roading then just do strut spacers/perch kit to get 35’s on.

planning any hardcore off roading
I will definitely be doing some hardcore off-roading but it will not be often and I will be driving my Bronco to get there. There are no places to off-road close to me. I am at least 3-4 hours or more to any place that would be even remotely considered hardcore. Everywhere else is "fairly" easy and still 2 hours away. Plenty of mud near me, but that is NOT an option. Spent too much time as a teenager cleaning mud out of every nook and cranny of my trucks.
When I put on a lift, I will also have to do tires and a set of rockrail /steps. My wife has a hard time getting in now. With lift and tires adding about 4 inches to my height, the rockrail steps will be a must have at the same time.
