Has anyone installed one of these amps under the dash? curious where and how you mounted it? I have seen lots of 200's, which are smaller, but I can not seem to find a good spot for the 500. Thanks for the insight!!

Are you talking about the kicker key 500.1?

I mounted mine behind the RH quarter/load area trim panel, because I wanted it to power a tailgate mounted sub. It's actually very small compared to other amps of it's type, and only slightly bigger than a key 200.4...could fit in alot of places!

It would make more sense typically to mount the 500.1 key in the back as it is a subwoofer amplifier and you want it closer to the sub box.

I’d rather run shorter power/ground/signal wires to the amp and longer speaker cables to the sub. I was thinking maybe the 500.1 could be adapted to the M2M mount under the dashboard.

Do you have pictures? I like the idea of them stacked. Happy with both of them?

I never verified but I had always assumed it would fit on the M2M mounting plate above the glove box. It's a generic plate for both a 200.4 and midland radios so inless the 500.1 is huge??

I do not as my installer did it but I can feel both as you reach up under the dash.

The 200.4 is just bolted to the metal plate under the steering wheel and for the 500.1, I cut a piece of 1/4" abs big enough to sit on top of the supports above the glove box and bolted the 500.1 to the abs panel. Pics are kinda hard to get of them in place, but here is what I could get.

I mounted the 500 to the M2M bracket above the glove box. I just notched a little of the plastic base on the amp to fit flat on the bracket.

Thank you for the pictures. That's what I was thinking of doing, the visual confirms my thoughts! Did you zip tie it above the glove box? Just thinking movement? Thanks!!
