I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but I am praying to you Tire Gods to please help me out!

I picked up my 2023 non sas Outer Banks last week and it's scheduled next week for a lift and new tires. I have never modified a vehicle and I know nothing about tires. I feel like I got a different answer from each of the places I went to discuss options.

My current order for next week is a 2" lift (ReadyLIFT) and 295/70R18 BFGoodrich KM3 tires.

I like the stock wheels, so I am keeping them. To be honest, I am going more for looks than performance (I know! Feel free to kill me with the eye rolls!). The only action she will see is driving up the mountain during ski season or at the family ranch, which is covered in sand.

Since this is primarily my everyday driver, I want to maintain the smooth, quite ride like factory tires, but get the beefier look I was going for. I really don't like how small the factory tires look in the wheel well and prefer a fuller look.

So, here are my questions...

Did I choose the wrong tire and lift?

I originally hoped to put 35's with the 2" lift, but everyone did say the only 35's that would fit on the factory wheels are the Nitto Trail Grappler, and no one really recommended them. Are these not a good fit for my purposes?

Is a 2" lift too much for 295/70R18 tires to get the fuller look of the wheel well? Should I do 1.5" instead?

Should I do a 285/75R18 with a 2" lift instead? (I looked at the Nitto Recon Grappler and Ridge Grappler in this size)

What are the tires, lifts, etc. that ya'll would recommend for the look/performance I'm going for?

Please Tire Gods, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts/advise/suggestions before I wind up with a very expensive ride I don't enjoy driving!
I echo @mattymik - if you want a similar ride with minimal road noise, an M/T tire like the KM3 may not be the way to go. An All-Terrain is definitely better suited for your needs and there are a lot of great choices to select from in the 295/70R-18 tire size (which will fit great). Michelin even builds their Defender LTX M/S in this size which maintains a similar tread design when compared to your O.E. tires.

Side note: I’ve always been a tire nerd. For many years I made a habit of selling my tires every spring and buying fresh rubber. I’ve now had three sets of Kenda RT’s and they have been my favorite by far. Highly recommend.
I can’t wait to get this beast out on the trail!

I do the same (F350) But at 50% tread life vs. each year.

my favorite is the Toyo Open Country M/T (E-rated & wide).

Your Bronco looks fantastic.

Thanks for the response.

I checked out those Michelin tires you mentioned, but to be honest I really hate the look of them.

I originally wanted the BFG KO2's, but no one seemed to be able to get them.

One place suggested a Cooper tire, but his coworker said I would hate them and the BFG KM3's would be a much smoother ride.

I honestly don't expect any of the bigger tire options to ride as well as OE's, I just don't want the difference to be so severe that it's not fun to drive.

I'm probably just being overly worried because I gave up the smoothest ride I've ever had with my Jeep Grand Cherokee, but I just never enjoyed the look and low profile of it.

Would you mind giving me a few options you would recommend?

I had the original Cooper A/T3 on my Porsche Turbo. Liked them so much I put the ST/Maxx on my Mercedes. I'll probably go with the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT (made by Cooper) on my Bronco. There's a 2D Wrangler in my neighborhood with the Cooper A/T3s. Looks great.

Thing is, those 295/70r18's in the Discount Tire link are all (except 1) E Load Range. I had E load tires on the Mercedes. I just lowered the air pressure until they were comfortable, but the low tire warning was almost always lit up. I have a loaded Badlands and I think it's still a few hundred pounds lighter than the Mercedes. At least you can adjust the low tire pressure limit on the Bronco...

Looks great!

What are your thoughts so far on the Nomad Grappler?
like them, road noise is no more than stock Generals. Ride was a little stiff at first, tire shop put in 43lbs pressure, dropped it down to 37 and it’s better.

would definitely recommend them.

Great looking Bronco. The white line and dots on the bottom of your door look great.

I wanted a tall tire, but not quite as wide as the stock K02s/Goodyears because of all the snow we get in Minnesota. It drives great and handles well. Highly recommend this setup for daily driving and winter wonderlands. âť„ Pulled two Jeep Wranglers out of our not-plowed neighborhood mess the first week I had them on.

Prior to the mudflaps, tire wall poke was about an inch outside of the standard flares — the tire wall poked, but the tread didn’t. Not sure I’ll keep the back ones on, but always appreciate following someone who does.
