What percentage of Bronco owners have had zero problems

I have had one problem that many of my fellow manual transmission owners have. Essentially when our transmissions get cold it makes a grinding/scratching noise.

Jury is still out on whether it is a major problem or not. It definitely seems like it could turn into a major problem. BUT thus far it isn't clear if any actual damage is happening, there have been no failures reported, and I'm still able to drive the Bronco.

So... I guess I would categorize that as a minor problem for now that could potentially be a major problem that could also end up just being an annoying noise?

One member who is a tech posted that when he heard transmission noise, he checked the fluid and added a 1/3rd of a quart and the noise went away, what if the noise and damage is because of as little as a 1/3 of a quart is missing?

And no one else is checking that?

I'm getting mine in about three weeks (give or take) and I'm going to request that the dealer check the fluid level right off the bat.

Not counting company recall issues, has your ownership experience been problem free?

I like where you are going with this but I bet there are some people that say "wind noise, or squeaky top, speakers are not loud enough, tires throw rocks, windshield chips, etc...." all subjective but not real problems in my opinion. Lots of people have never driven an off road capable vehicle and they are comparing it to their history of driving cars on the road.

I think this is a GREAT idea for a poll.

One thing I would have done different was to break out the “major and minor” problems into separate votes. So basically, people could get an overview of the percentage of Broncos having NO problems, Some minor problem(s) that were easily fixed in a day, or major problems that required weeks of down time.

But then you would need to have electric vs mechanical vs drive train vs engine vs interior vs exterior vs tire...which would be a mfg issue, and don't forget all of the stone chip, the stones are to small threads. Then you would have to run the Bronco numbers against Jeeps and other offroad trucks to see if their numbers are better then the Bronco. To be totally accurate you would have to go pull the other mfg. numbers from their model release years.

Believe most people who attempted that came back and said noise actually still there. Slightly damped with extra fluid but sounds present. Also no reason being slightly low should result in what we have going on. These oils and Fluids break down over time so you'll get slightly less out then you put in. That would just be plain bad engineering to design something with such little room for damage to occur. Don't forget people are climbing these things up 80* inclines too crawling.

It doesn’t seem to be fluid/lubricant related… but we really have no idea. Mine was properly filled from the factory, and there was even a few people who over-filled to try get the noise to go away.

But… we really don’t know. Just when we think we’ve started to figure it out (“we” being the community), someone makes a post that proves out theories false. To be honest I’m not sure Ford themselves knows what’s happening. This is really the first winter where a large number of Broncos have been in owner’s hands, so in the grand scheme of things it is a relatively new issue.

Have a B-pillar that appears permanently etched. I suspect this is part of the reason mine sat on dirt mountain for months. Service ordered a replacement in August. Still hasn’t arrived. I am to the point where I’m more curious if it ever will than anything. I might just paint both pillars or put a cover over it like I’ve seen posted here.

There is also a Nike like swoosh on my hood where it appears a hose slid over wet paint. Clear coat is on top of this swoosh. I have also decided to live with this. After applying a ceramic coating, it’s hard to even see. Need to look from just the right angle. I feel a body shop is more likely to screw up my hood than make it look better at this point.

Well that kills that.

It could simply be that the supplier needed to provide more units then originally planned (higher take rate than expected) and needed more components from another supplier and etc.

Yes, I suppose that would have been better to have trouble free vs minor vs major problems. I am actually surprised by 70% trouble free response so far given what we read here. But 30% with issues is still significant IMO. Wonder how lucky or unlucky I will be with delivery this month?

I didn't vote, because I've had minor issues but didn't want to skew the data for it. The rear dome light wire was disconnected (fixed it myself), I have the backup camera/low range issue (but should be fixed with update) and the front driveshaft recall (which is still OK, but will get fixed sometime). ...OK I'm going back to vote now that I've written it down.

Just got mine back from having the seal/gasket replaced on the rear clamshell for a roof leak. So far so good. I posted about the leak here and Ford reached out about it and started a claim number on it. They were like a hobo on a ham sandwich about following up, with me and the dealer. Now gonna see how they are about getting that 2nd Price Protection refund tracked down...

After 15,000 miles with my base model 2.3 liter , after changing the wheels and tires with 35 inch sasquatch package take offs. Soft top . Upgraded the 6 speakers with Pioneer.
Thank God no issues so far.

None so far though I haven't had mine as long as others. 1 Month so far. One minor things was one day I started up my vehicle and it said something was wrong with the parking brake.I turned it off and on again and the warning message went away.

I have a new 2023 model.

My only issue, which I wouldn't consider a major or minor issue is the squeak with the hardtop at the bolt mounts. Just needs a bit of grease.

Other than that nothing wrong. LOVE the Sport mode

Drivers side rear door was misaligned. Did not notice it until paint was missing down to bare metal on both bottom rear edge of door, and where it contacted the door sill on the body. Other than that, no issues. September 2020 reservation with October 2022 production and delivery. As others noted, also had minor squeaking from rear of hard top when going over bumps.
