Well, not today, but took most of the day yesterday.
I was browsing the classifieds here and noticed one state south, New Mexico, a guy had a bunch of stuff for sale off a manual Badlands. I asked him how much for the front diff, front CV's, front drive shaft, and rear complete axle. He came back with $2500.
I jumped on that, quick! I went and picked it all up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I figured he had wrecked his Bronco and was parting it out. Not even close. Turns out this guy and his dad race in Ultra 4. Ford had picked 3 small teams and gave them each a pre production Bronco that had been used for testing purposes. Ford wants them to build them for the 4600 class and race at least 5 races for the next 3 years, then after they go to the crusher. There were 2 auto V6's and one 2.3L manual. They grabbed the manual and now I'm the new owner of the 4.7 running gear from that Bronco. Only had 900 miles on it when they started the build.
