What did you do TO / WITH your Bronco today? 👨🏻‍🔧🧰🚿🛠

Well, not today, but took most of the day yesterday.

I was browsing the classifieds here and noticed one state south, New Mexico, a guy had a bunch of stuff for sale off a manual Badlands. I asked him how much for the front diff, front CV's, front drive shaft, and rear complete axle. He came back with $2500. I jumped on that, quick! I went and picked it all up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I figured he had wrecked his Bronco and was parting it out. Not even close. Turns out this guy and his dad race in Ultra 4. Ford had picked 3 small teams and gave them each a pre production Bronco that had been used for testing purposes. Ford wants them to build them for the 4600 class and race at least 5 races for the next 3 years, then after they go to the crusher. There were 2 auto V6's and one 2.3L manual. They grabbed the manual and now I'm the new owner of the 4.7 running gear from that Bronco. Only had 900 miles on it when they started the build.

Got tired of looking at my winch rope attached to a bow shackle on the bumper. It looks tacky and the shackle gets exposed to road grime etc. while browsing the interweb I came across these fairlead studs and figured I could make a better one

I didn’t like the long threaded bolt going thru the middle ,and 10mm threads wouldn’t match the M12 nuts welded on my skid plate. So I grabbed a chunk of Nitronic 60 off the shelf and fired up the lathe.

Some tasty M12x1.75 threads there.

installed. Since this picture I’ve taken the metal thimble off the eye of the rope. Much much cleaner looking

Added few Green Add-ons on the Ignition and the Aux cover, I am sure I got an increase of .0001 hp with this

With the green add-ons the black interior became brighter, will be adding some more soon.

Thanks! I got the twistedshifterz yellow! I actually didn’t spec thread size in my order, there was a bronco-specific adapter kit that came with it so no consideration was necessary

Added hockey stripe with Bronco Script, installed my fifteen52 Analog HD wheels with 35s, a 2 inch lift, and swapped out my Standard fender flares to SAS fender flares.

Yesterday I took it to Little Moab and got a little muddy! Did the Nutty Putty Cave loop and explored some other areas too. There were some steep dirt sections and steep rocky sections, and some mud holes which were a lot of fun. It was my first offroading adventure in this thing and I loved every second of it.
