Lets Talk Window Tint. How dark did you go ? ? ? ?

I'm thinking of going 20% or 30% Xpel XR Plus on the side and 70% or 80% on the Windshield.

Although illegal in IL, I matched the front windows to the stock rear windows. Left front windshield alone. I like the uniformity of the side view.

I matched my windows to the rear windows which is also illegal to go that dark in Minnesota.

I really like it but it does make it harder to see at night. My wife does not like it at all.

Base model fishbowl, 3M ceramic 15% all around and 50% on windshield. Difficult at night but worth it for privacy, comfort and brightness/glare reduction. Choose your tinter VERY carefully, lots of hacks out there. You’ll probably pay $400-$800 for quality work and film depending on number of windows.

Yeah, I’ve never tinted my front windshield. But I figured when the Wildtrak gets here I’m gonna keep outside in the driveway here in California.

so the windshield tint should help protect the dashboard and interior and possibly help keep the heat down inside the car.

Picking up my Bronco today and having tint done Saturday. I'll post pics after its done but, here is what Im going with.

Base model; so no tint from factory.

Ceramic 5% all the way around, and ceramic 70% on windshield.

I personally hunted down someone that had 25%. 25% x 80% factory glass = 20%. Stock rear windows are 22%.

The reason 20% is more common on front side windows is that people either 1. dont factor in that factory glass is partially tinted at 80%, and that factory rear tint is actually slightly higher than 20%., thus resulting in a mismatch or 2. are aware of this, but want to go darker in the front to offset the light pouring in through the windshield. But technically 25% front side tint is a better match when viewing the vehicle side-on, and gives slightly better visibility at night.

I did CIR20 on the front doors and CIR5 on the rest of it with a 5% windshield strip
