I finally took delivery of my side steps for my black diamond. I'm glad they arrived, because the complaints were piling up about getting into and out of the Bronco :ROFLMAO: . The install was reasonably easy. You basically position the step where you want it and then adjust what is effectively a big set screw. The product arrived in very nice packaging, however there were zero instructions.

Tools you'll need:
Very small hex wrench to install the logos (honestly this should be included with the screws)
1/2" socket
Pliers (I used my leatherman)

The issue that I found is that the set screws do not turn very easily. I wound up using the pliers on my multitool to get them snug against the rock rail. You also need to be aware that there are two spots on the rock rails that are the frame mounting points. You don't want to install the steps where these are. Basically, you'll want to get on the ground and underneath the vehicle to do a proper install (or throw it on a lift if you're lucky). I used lithium grease to help with two of the set screws.

Overall, I am happy with the product and my kids really like the steps. The install is not difficult.

You can use an allen key on the set screw I think it's a 4mm or 5mm can't remember. No pliers needed.

Do you find yourself using them? Protrude enough to be useful? I ordered full step 4 weeks ago tomorrow and contemplating backing out and maybe getting something else.

I was in the same boat as you and contemplating whether to cancel my order. My concern was whether they would cause too much of a lowering effect on my Bronco, though.

If you do want to cancel, I’d suggest you do so now. My steps shipped exactly 4 weeks after I ordered them. I wish I could help answer your questions, but mine have yet to arrive.

I used them every time I get into my Bronco. And my family uses them too. But we are vertically challenged :ROFLMAO:

Also, I had them on the vehicle when I went off roading and I smacked one of them on a narrow section when the rear kicked out. It moved on the vehicle but that was it.

Overall I do recommend them if you find yourself having issues getting into the vehicle.
