Quick test on hood flutter from hood deflector. It has noticeably more hood flutter, BUT no noise and way less bugs. There are still bugs on the top quarter of the windshield but almost non in my line of sight after 600+ miles of driving in Texas. I normally have to clean windshield every fill up. Now if I can't clean it, it's no big deal. I don't know about keeping rocks from chipping the windshield but it will protect the hood for sure.

Someone was asking about this but I can’t find their post anymore. If you remember, would you tag them?

Have you adjusted the hood bump stops?

I noticed less flutter when I installed mine. Definitely fewer bug splatter on the bottom 2/3rds of the windshield though.

I got one to stop hood chips. Certainly helps with those.

I have the deflector installed and definitely have noticeable hood flutter. Usually above 65-70 mph or so. Kinda drives me nuts. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I would love to see a test for flutter with a bit more information. Seems to be that to do a proper test the before and after should be on the same day and on the same stretch of road at the same speed.

It looks like possibly speeds were different and not the same road area.

More movement with it for me at 65+ mph. Just driver side at the far left front edge, like the hood is trying to open.

While slightly off topic the AVS and the Ford offered ones are exactly the same. They come from the same supplier with just different labels. I didn’t notice much change in flutter with or without.

Ya'll haven't seen hood flutter until you drive a JK. With the stock rubber bands holding it down, it seems like it moves 6 inches up

I have the Weathertech deflector and love it, there are no pics online of it yet. It mounts to the underside of the hood, and wraps around the edge floating above the windshield.

Probably 90% less bugs and rocks hitting the windshield since I installed it.

Random pic to show design style.

The Ford one is made by Bushwhacker. It’s clearly printed on the instructions. The one that is actually a deflector that is..
