Got my SLAP/BPM and BALLS yesterday and installed today. Picture shows the angle that you have to hold the bit at in order to get the screws out. Silly me was holding the bit perpendicular to the dash, until I got out the mirror, which made things much easier. The bit that I used was labelled TXC15. My 20 Torx was too big. Really well made, high quality stuff.

AR | SLAP / BPM Structurally Located Accessory Point / Bulletproof Mount

Bronco6G.com forum Members, use the code B6GSLAPME20 for 20% off your purchase!!!

It's stealthy, low profile, and probably the way the OEM 'ACCESSORY READY' mount point should have been designed from the get-go.
We took the OEM plastic 'ACCESSORY READY' panel with its single (flimsy) 1/4-20 threaded location and deconstructed it. What you have now is a plastic dash trim piece with a threaded metal sleeve and nut inserted. The threaded feature has been known to come apart. From what we've seen from feedback from our customers, one to three mm of tolerance is common, when mounting their BAM.

What we did was turn the plastic part and design a 6061 billet piece that uses M6 threaded hardware to mount to the steel dash structure, making a very rigid and 'bomb proof' mounting location. We took it a couple steps further by adding two more 1/4-20 threaded locations that flank the original center location, making the single piece so much more versatile. Add in our proprietary keyway to accept our B.A.L.L.S. and you have a formula of:

1/4-20 316 stainless bolt + 6061 billet ball (20mm or 1") + 6061 billet bracket + M6 316 stainless bolt -into the steel dash structure.
It literally doesn't get any beefier than this.
The AR | SLAP / BPM accepts out AR | BAM & TAP and is brand agnostic to other manufacturers. It will allow their rail/mount something substantial to mount to. I'm 3D printing the prototype tomorrow. The final product will be cerakoted to match the surrounding dash plastics and give the AR | SLAP / BPM an OEM look. The ARCHETYPE RACING script will be machined into the part and have a similar appearance to the OEM 'ACCESSORY READY' script which is very subdued.

thanks!

holy cow what a rabbit hole this turned out to be (in a good way). So ordering the SLAP and found the RAM mount.

But I am unable to find the magnetic phone mount from the photo above. It looks like it might be magsafe compatible, but after several searches I cannot figure out the manufacturer. So if anyone knows and can provide a link to it that would be much appreciated.

Never mind, found the company: Quad Lock. Unfortunately, it isn't a magsafe adapter but a proprietary one, so it won't work for me.
Which RAM mount is that? I'm going crazy over here with their site and their 3924843923 products

Got mine a week or so ago. Definitely more rugged (solid) than the oem version.

I got the SLAP and the TAP. Both solidly built. My only complaint is when you attach the TAP to the SLAP, it covers the extra mounting points on the SLAP. Seems to defeat one of the advantages of the SLAP in the first place.

I can not for the LIFE of me figure out how to remove the plastic accessory point so that I can install my S.L.A.P. I see there are screws down there by I cannot find a good way to get a view of them to see if they are hex, torx, torx-plus, etc. I've tried every size of all of them and can get anything to fit in and catch so that I can unscrew it. Any help?

Little past that point. I’ve tried and tried.
I received and mounted mine.

After removing the two OEM screws, the instructions tell you to use a plastic pry tool to disengage the clips on the OEM mounting apparatus. The clips are at the two corners of the OEM apparatus closest to you. I did not have a plastic pry tool, so I inserted my AR BYODR screw into the center hole on the OEM apparatus and then placed a flat-edge screwdriver under that screw and gently pulled the entire thing upwards to expose the clips. Then I just wormed my finger under the plastic and pulled up the rest of the way to completely remove the OEM apparatus.

Hope this helps for those receiving their mounts!
Just mounted mine. I can tell you, Ford couldn't have placed those T20's in a worse place/angle. They were a freakin nightmare to get out and back in. At least for me and I have done a fair amount of wrenching on this vehicle since I have gotten it. BTW, heed Curtis's instructions, it is a T20, not a Torx Plus 20. At least the regular T20 is what worked for me. Weird since I have used Torx Plus on everything else on this truck.

Maybe these will help?
