Running wires through Active Grille Shutters?

I have lights mounted on a bull bar, for which the wiring runs through the front grille, through the active grille shutters and into the back of the engine bay so that I can turn them off and on using the Auxiliary switches.

Could this cause the active grille shutters to not function properly?

Uh yeah. If you run it through them then it could cause them to not close or open properly.

I have had my raptor shutters apart when relocating the ACC sensor and was surprised how flimsy it was. The motor that opens and closes the shutters is tiny.

Put slack in the wire and it will shut fine.

Theres a space right in the middle of the grille you can run them up through, you just have to take the grille off.

Personally ran wires behind bumper and up. Followed the factory harness.
