I'll keep you guys updated, a local audio installer has ordered one for me. My OBX has the High Package and I didn't opt for the upgraded sound system. The base speaker set suuuucks, but I knew that. Once I changed out the speakers with higher end Audison speakers the clarity and sound quality got much better - but due to the speaker sizes (four 4" speakers and two 6" essentially at your feet) there's just no good range, esp on lower end sounds. They had one of the boxes in stock, it obviously needs it's own amp, install in prob the next 7-10 days.

I replaced every speaker in my non-B&O 6 speaker system with the Kicker KS series, Audiocontrol Lc-5 1300 watt 5 channel amp with the harness from plugnplaykits.com and the Stinger swing gate mounted sub. First impression on the sub is that it hits hard and is very clear. I do get some rattling on certain low tones but i can adjust them out with the bass control nob (which is a must in my opinion). I will be adjusting the crossovers in the amp and putting more sound deadening to get things just right. I think for the speaker and enclosure $500 was money well spent and I'm happy with my purchase so far.

I just ordered the Stinger tailgate mount. Any tips? Should I put Dynamat on the metal behind the box to help with the rattling?

Yes, Dynamat on the metal between the box and the door also pop off the panel by the interior swing gate door and Dynamat what you can in that compartment as well.

Mounting it was pretty straight forward and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. If you have the rivet nut setter tool I would imagine it would simplify the install a bit, but not necessary.
