12 VDC Cargo Area Power Port

The rear 12 volt power in the cargo area seems to be off when the ignition is off but remains on for a while after the ignition is turned off.

Does anyone know how long it stays energized for after the ignition is turned off?

Edit: I ran the Aux cable to the battery to get an always on source back there for lights.

I believe there is a tweak you can do in Forscan that will keep it on.

This is one of my concerns as well, because in my Wrangler the rear cargo is hot all the time so unless I'm spending it overnight, I just plug my fridge directly into the vehicle.

I’m running a 700 wh power supply between the vehicle battery and fridge. I’m OK with the 12 volt port turning off. Also using 200 watts of solar panels for when the vehicle is off. Will probably get an MPPT(?) solar charge controller for backup charging of the main vehicle battery.

Forscan allows you to extend the time beyond the ~hour you get.

Yeah It is kind of a double-edged sword. On one hand, if I always take my power supply with me, having the 12 volt plug turn off is a good thing. While the truck is running, it'll help charge the power station, but when the ignition is off there's a limit to how long it will drain the car battery.

On The flip side, it means if I want to run down and Hit a couple of stores, I got a load up the power station as well as the fridge (My fridge is not mounted in my rig).

The Good news is sounds like Forscan gives us options.

An ARB rep was telling me that the wires to that aux outlet are thin and can trigger premature ARB fridge warnings/errors. I’ve seen a couple errors on my ARB Zero but I don’t know if that was my vehicle battery or the wiring causing that. The hardwired ARB kit is pretty cheap so I might be adding that.

I know a lot of Jeep folks have had issues with some of those name brand fridges. I have an off-brand and so far so good and I don't know the wire gauge being used (Jeep not Bronco)

I have a small ICECO. Runs at about 35 to 56 watts, so about 4.5 amps max.
