Yes took it to Moab this last week. Used a second unit with magnetic base antenna on my F150 and communication between the two vehicles was fantastic. Almost no static and quite pleased with the range. At home we tested between a handheld walkie talkie and the unit in my Bronco and the handheld was able to hear me 2 miles away and they were inside our house.

Where did you get that mount? Also how did you the coax back there? Looks nice!

Made the mount from a piece of steel from Home Depot. Ran the coax over the top of the roll bar and down the pillar behind the rear door under the rear passenger step plate and under the drivers seat into the center console. Very simple install.

What readings are you guys getting with your set up? I’ll be working on mine Thursday…SWR is a little high At 1.39 and power a little low at 9.47. Running a mxt275. I’m getting better results on my mxt115 in my tundra with a magnet antenna. SWR on a tundra 1.01 and 11.2w power.

Just for security and inquisitive people protection I run mine on a rear hard top bolt since the base is magnetic. Im not looking for monster distance, just to keep in touch with my people during an off-road camping trip and the weather band.

I have a mxt575 with swr of 1.54 and power output of 48.8 watts.
That's using the midland antenna that came with the radio mounted on a sr offroad a pillar mount with the ditch light.
I tried the magnet mount on the rollbar and got a 1.01 swr.
Also, if you weren't already, check your output power with the engine running. It makes a difference the the 575, maybe not so much with the 275, but you never know.

Where did you buy the top photos bracket?
The 3rd brake light mount is from eBay. It’s for a Jeep. Just a heads up, if you have a hard top, the rear wipers will hit it. Going back to my original config..

This is a custom mount but working with SRQ Fabrications to see if they can mass produce..

Thanks. If they decide to mass produce I’d be very interested.

I ended up deciding on this antenna configuration. What kind of bolts are in the back on the pillar to attach the antenna?
