Hella ValueFit 500 LED Driving Light install

Hey guys, just wanted to let everyone know how easy these lights were to wire up to the Aux switches. The whole install took maybe an hour. Just used a small stainless washer and the Bronco bolt to install them to the pillars. The lights being 6” did sit right against the antenna so I removed it until the 1.5” antenna I ordered comes in. Overall I’m super happy with them, and the DRL function looks pretty cool. I wired the DRL to switch 3 and the driving light to switch 2.

Are you still liking these lights? I’m thinking about putting them on the front bumper. I’m also wondering if there’s an option to wire the DRL into the factory circuit.

Yeah I’m still digging them for sure! No visible signs of moisture in the lenses or leaking. All of the LEDs work still and they’ve withstood a fair amount of abuse so far. They seem pretty solid for the money.

Did you use the provided Hella wiring harness? And if so, where in the harness did you wire the aux switches. I have the same lights/harness and I’m planning to cut out the provided toggle switch and wire the DRL and driving lights to two different aux switches like you’re describing. In that scenario, where does the ground wire go?

These things are great! Take a beating from the elements and with the amber covers, they add needed contrast to winter storm whiteout conditions. I know because I lost a cover (car wash) and it just wasn’t the same without them. Reordered a pair of amber covers so I’d have a spare.
