I need detailed instructions for dummies on how to remove the trim panel where the sub is in a 2 door with the B&O system. Trying to eliminate couple rattles. Any suggestions for removal and how to eliminate rattles appreciated.

Where the green tape is is where the difficult two piece clips are located. I started from the door working back to the rear. The top by the seatbelt pops out pretty easy and those clips typically don’t break very easily. Start pealing back the panel looking for the white two piece clips. I used a long straight slot screwdriver and used it to work in where the two piece clips meet. One you get one of the legs that clip over the top loose is usually breaks free. Just keep some outward pressure on the panel and do this for the remaining clips. Be patient you should be able to get it.

Yes. You can get it off without removing, but will be a pain to reinstall. Very simple to remove.

Yea it would be a pain not to. Also I’m not sure why but that rear trim piece actually comes off after you take the load floor out. Or mine was over the top of it anyway. I have a base so it may be different for other trims.

Thanks for all the tips. Even a dummie like me should be able to do it. But now I’m thinking whether I really should because mine doesn’t rattle 90% of the time. Question then is to those that did remove the panel to eliminate rattles in the B&O, were you successful and what did you do?

Ya the cargo floor sits on top of the lip to the panel. You can pull the panel off with the floor on, but not reinstall it. Been there lol. On 4 door anyway.

You're not a dummie. A rookie maybe, but at least your willing to try! If you have never pulled panels before, just know that it is going to sound and feel like your destroying it. But if you take your time you'll be ok!

My B&O rattled 95% of the time from the factory. I had the panel pulled first week of ownership. I pulled it at least 5 times to get it 99% rattle free. Each time it got better but would rattle on certain frequency. Basically you need to insulate the panel from anything it touches or comes close to touching. Wrap plastic connectors with cloth tape. Insulate the sub enclosure from the body and make sure it’s tight. Sit in the back with some bass thumping loud and use your hands and ears. I’m sure each Bronco is different. You can win the battle.

this

i used sound insulation on the inside of the panel at all the potential contact points
Huge difference
Ill find the thread that flip posted the panel removal steps, it’s pretty easy but be gentle as some of the parts are brittle plastic

Can someone post links to cloth tape and insulation material?
