Based on capability. Having additional capability isn’t a bad thing. Having a 58k desert runner that can’t crawl on some rocks is concerning. I have a 52k rock crawler that also is a desert runner. What is your argument? Lol
Whoever said I paid 58k? I am still under your 52 K. (and paid off not owned by a bank who lets me drive it)...............research before you start picking up stones and throwing em............ My EB is my technical Moab rock crawler, happy to tell you about the drive train ..................right after you tell me all about your EB.

lol no need to get booty tickled. It's really ok that you over payed for your WT, no one here is judging you... ahhahahaahahahah

All you need to do is YOUR research and see that with a 52k badlands you get all the options that a WT gets + sway bar disconnect + MGV and washout flooring + steel bumpers. And I dont have to look at a cheap looking digi-camo on my seatback :p

edit: you could also argue that a "desert runner" build isn't going to be as capable in a 2dr form. That's why the raptor is only offered as a 4 door. Its more stable to high speeds

WOW............okay sorry you only have one option, musta hit a sensitive spot. Sorry.

I agree ........the rhino lined/MGV (low rent stuff btw--) is nice on my rock crawler but start talking about real bumpers, real suspension, real gearing, real drive shafts, real bead locks and stickies, steering linkages and related, then you can talk all about your MGV seats. Good luck with the tie rods. Look up Stone Crusher, Hydro and PSC before you get behind the keyboard--- Hilarious.

Someone has their taint tighted around their panties that is for sure. Sorry you paid so much for a drain hole, but agree--if I didn't have my Rock Rig, the gearing is nice in a BL. Los Angeles right........I am sure it will be put to good use. (posting about it)

Gotta get this rig on the trailer EJS is this week................ Ciao.

hilarious.

Should've done some research before your build, anyone with enough mechanical ability to change a tire, could've got a Bronco with the same ability of your Badlands for $10k less. Granted the washouts would be nice, but not $10K nice. :ROFLMAO:

Apologies to the OP......

lol I think we all did a lot of research before we purchased. lets not go assuming I don't know how to use a keyboard hahahaha

Yes you could buy a base bronco and upgrade axels, upgrade gear ratio, upgrade to sway bar disconnect, front/rear locker, install pussy magnet. BUT the ease of having a warrantee for a few years on a new vehicle is worth it.

Do you also tell GT500 owners they should of bought a GT? or Raptor owners they should of bought an F150? hahahaha

Considering the upgraded axels, gear ratio, and front/rear locker, with warrantee, could be had at a click of the mouse on the Base for $10k less, your lack of research is apparent. $10K excess, because you can't turn a wrench was the only thing in question.

Lol you are totally right. I still can’t figure out if it’s lefty loosey or righty tighty! But I know how to swipe a debit card so I think I’ll be fine!

I would have set the adaptive cruise in my LUX, SAS, OBX. That way it could intervene on my behalf for a random deer while I comfortably listened to my favorite play list on Ford+Alexa nestled in my heated leather seat, while my hands stayed toasty from the heated wheel. The cabin temp would be easily maintained with a quick glance at my digital temp control knobs. I may have even engaged my front and rear lockers for that random palm sized Boulder!!! Just poking a little fun, glad you enjoy your wild track.
LUX + SAS + OBX is basically a WT anyway... 😁

Man! The Wildtrak triggers so many people! Can we at least revel in the fact that it doesn’t have body-colored fender flares like the Sas’d up Outer Banks that it is (or was - RIP painted door handles 2021-2021)?! :ROFLMAO:

- guy with small screen and regular CLOTH  seats ;)

Who says a wildtrak can’t crawl on rocks? Mine does great without the sway bar disconnected. I have impressed the hell out of a lot of people at Hollister Hills (I know you’re familiar with HH) with what I’ve done in my bronco out there. What’s the point of the sway bar disconnect? It’s to get more articulation, right? Why do you need more articulation? Because you have more traction when all four tires are touching the ground. So yes, there is that small window where you can have all four tires touching the ground with the sway bar disconnected when you’d have one tire still off the ground if it were connected. Having front and rear lockers is what really makes the difference when you’re rock crawling. I’m not saying the sway bar disconnect doesn’t help, but people act like it’s some magical device that could transform an all wheel drive minivan into an all out rock crawler. In reality, it just keeps your back tire 4-6” closer to the ground than mine, and mine will still pull through in those situations because you guessed it, I have lockers too.

Be honest, most badlands owners really love the sway bar disconnect so they can drop a front tire in a ditch and pose with the back tire way off the ground, and then hit the button to drop the back tire a few inches closer to the ground and look like a badass.

I’d love to go run some trails and hit some obstacles with you next time you go to Hollister. If you’d like to show me how much more capable your badlands is than my wildtrak, I’d be up for that challenge. I don’t mean for that to sound like a dick measuring contest, just a fun day on the trails. And I hope the tone of my post doesn’t sound angry or defensive, that’s not what I’m going for.
