Well folks, I took a hiatus from the boards after getting my Bronco (4dr OBX 2.3 automatic) back in October, but I'm back with some frustrating news. This past Friday I noticed it started getting very jerky when accelerating and decelerating, and lurching hard when shifting from reverse to drive. It just started all of a sudden. I contacted my dealer because it didn't seem right and they had me bring it in right away so someone could drive it and see what was going on.
After driving it and trying some fixes including resetting some things, they agreed that it wasn't right. For context, I park outside and live in NWOhio. The car doesn't seem to do this for the first 10 minutes or so after sitting, so it's not happening when it's "cold"...at least not yet. It's a daily driver, has a whooping 3,100 miles on it, and has never been off-roading or anything like that (not that it should matter on this vehicle).
Anyways, just followed up with the dealer - Ford wants the whole transmission assembly replaced. On top of that, like everything else right now, parts are on backorder, so they cannot give me an ETA on anything right now (I know this not on the dealer and is part of life for everything right now). 3,100 miles and needs a new transmission. Frustrated doesn't begin to cover it.
I will say my dealer continues to be great - had me bring it in right away to check out the issue and make sure it was safe to drive. I know this would be covered under warranty, so I'm glad for that, but still a sucky situation.
