Going D?

Anyone know what "going D" means in the ordering/build process? My sales rep check on my Jan 22 order and was told by his higher that "It hasn’t gone D yet, but it very likely could any day now". Sales rep had no idea what that meant. For context, I was looking at making a few changes before the 7th and they recommended I didn't until after I get my VIN.

No idea what “D” means, but once you get a VIN you’re locked in. No changes. So that is horrible advice.

I was trying to change from the 2.7 to the 2.3 MT. They were told I'd have to cancel my order and re-order. Then I would lose my time already invested. So I'll stick with the 2.7. But I do want to change the bumper. I would think I would be able to do that after getting a VIN. But I don't know.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that your sales rep misheard and the sales manager actually said "P" and not "D".

P means your order is in Preview. Which means Ford is actively considering it for build. Usually when you enter preview status you'll get a build date within two weeks... but no guarantees. My order previewed at the end of January and has since lost its preview status (yay constraints!).

Once you get your Vin from Ford, the Dealer can give you the D as is ADM but just the tip for now.
