My Dad has several Broncos back in the day. They were trucks. 302, then a 351. I always wanted one.Hard to believe being a Ford guy, I even considered the Yukon GT. Why in Gods name do they post this muscular 2 door looking beast on bronco6g.com & them show watered down pics of a 4 door version of an F150 with a bed cap. Then, talk about a 2.3 & 2.7 turbo raptor version. If that’s all true, seems like the last Ford I’ll buy is my 90 Mustang LX 5.0. Come on Ford, you have enough politically correct cross over bs vehicles for millennials!! Make us a real truck!

I really don't understand the point of these kinds of threads.

This is one of the best executed products in Ford modern history (21st century) as it stands right now. Everything is being done correctly, as can be done.

Some folks really need to get a grip and stop whining about nothing at the drop of a hat and be a little more informed via this forum, like many (most) other 6G users try to be as they wait patiently.

It should be very obvious, the user renderings are not the final product. Why? It has been discussed by other users ad nauseam, as said above by Stampede.

Even in my university and high school days (2000s), I was never one to enter a forum, to complain about what I could easily figure out myself or piece together on a future product, if I paid close attention.

That being said, the only understandable frustration I see from users here, is the lack of test vehicles and official information from Ford marketing reps.

All will be revealed when timely, but VP1s might start replacing the mules in the coming weeks, regarding spy shots.

Simple put, it's better executed than even the retro S197 Mustang was went it hit the market in 2004.

It's not a Troller, NOT a U375 Everest, NOT a P375N USDM Ranger with a bedcap, nor is it some stylized modern rendition of a 1977-96 F150 convertible.

It is the namesake in 21st century form, which is why the unibody CX430 program made a shift last minute and went with a Bronco family derived design, instead of the mini-Explorer aesthetic that it had 2 years ago.

And just to add, the U725 and CX430 were supposed launch parallel. The change in NAIAS dates threw things a bit up in the air, as at the time of announcement in early 2017, there was an idea to debut in Detroit by January 2020.

Minor delays by months and change in NAIAS dates, made it senseless to reveal too early, like was done with the alu-Raptor and GT in January 2015 (launched nearly 2 years later in 2016).

Thanks for the info Carmaker. Good to hear that rumor of VP1 mules showing up in the fall is still holding true, it is pretty interesting they will have the mules driving around so long before the reveal though. My buddy made it sound like the top brass is super concerned about chinese copies, since they expect the Bronco to do fairly well in China and they're trying to avoid a Landwind-esque copy before the Bronco itself even comes out!

Ummm... NONE of today's trucks resemble their ancestors from 30-40 years ago. There are advances in materials, engineering, and technology; in addition, there are exponentially more stringent regulations regarding fuel economy, emissions, and safey/occupant protection. Consumers are demanding more luxury, a better ride, and more electronic conveniences. The "I remember" vehicles you refer to don't even remotely compare to today's versions - and enjoy the parallax of distant memory to erase the recollection of hard starting, constant gasoline smell in the cabin, 12 MPG, comparatively erratic handling and tire wear, ridiculously frequent service intervals...

NONE of the renderings you've seen are official. The "they" that you refer to are independent digital artists unaffiliated with Ford and are all making wild assed guesses, ALL of them either uninformed or misinformed of what the end product will look like. ONE of them may get lucky and be close to the final product, but that's much closer to luck if it happens. Keep in mind that these artists are also the same "they" who posted the "watered down pics of a 4-door version of an F150 with a bed cap", so perhaps you should go complain to "them".

Ford's top sport truck today is powered by a V6 that puts out stunning figures compared with similar '70's, '80's, and '90's offerings. Head to head in unmodified form, it outperforms any of it's early ancestors in every department by an immense margin. My guess is the new Bronco will handily do the same.

They can camouflage the prototype body pretty heavily with foam, canvas, etc. I doubt the first several times we see them it will tell us any more than the tarp covered pics from over a year ago (I'll cross my fingers for front axle though).

At least it should make people stop whining about how ugly the Frankenrangers are.

The one thing that consistently gets praise from reviewers is the engine, and I'm sure for most people driving around with an empty truck it does quite well.

If it ends up as the base engine for Bronco I don't think anyone will be surprised -- that little 2.3L I4 outperforms most of the competition on paper.

I would say that's the 2-door. The shadowed one behind the "yet to be named rugged off road small utility" image from Vegas in NOV last year was probably the proportions of the 4-door. Only around a 16" difference between 2 v 4. The two door will probably be very comparable to its Wrangler counterpart, while the four door seems like it might be shorter than the Jeep.

They hadn't really nailed down the design then, which is probably why the BroncoBronco was only presented as a shadow, and why the two blue tarped models don't have exactly the same contours. Making our understanding of what it will actually look like that much more vague.

Not to mention that the 2.7 regularly outdrags the 5.0 stock for stock in new F150s.

Every if they offer a 5.0 in the Bronco against all odds, I'd rather have a TT ecoboost V6 myself. I can understand those the V8 want it purely for the engine sound though.
