A contrary thought is that a HUGE part of "making money" is properly fulfilling the demands of your customer base. If customers are being alienated there can be serious repercussions that will linger with the brand for a long time to come . . . and of course that will carry an economic impact. Therefore I don't think it is likely that Ford merely chases quick money through easy builds at the expense of alienating customers further. I am sure Ford is cognizant of the fact that this launch has driven customers into the hands of competitors such as Jeep and Toyota, as plainly seen here on B6G. I can't believe that they would intentionally do anything to make it worse than it already is. The rub I think is a dilemma . . . trying to balance dealer needs (literally their sales drive chain) with customer needs because Ford needs both. Sure, the customer is the most important person in the room, but the dealers hold the key to the room . . . so Ford is stuck trying to please both.Balanced out means Ford will continue to use all parts available to build the most profitable broncos on a month to month basis.
I ordered a base 4 door in late july 2020 and took delivery about a month ago.
There was some luck involved with that but
It was a well known fact that we were dealing with commodity restraints and obviously if you order a vehicle with fewer parts you will have a much better chance of your vehicle actually being built.
Keep in mind this is all about Ford making money not about what you "want" and there is an aftermarket to buy your bolt on stuff.
I am about to order a two door base for my wife.
Good luck.
