Micro chip hold causing delivery delays

Anyways, any thread that can rope in the big dogs @Rick Astley and @HotdogThud has my attention. Although, I’m a little disappointed that Rick is losing his edge…..someone having to explain that he was using sarcasm is like someone having to explain their joke…..he rallied nicely by transitioning to sheeple piercings, but still.

So, here’s my take on this MIC top…….errrr, MICrochip issue. When Ford addressed the microchip issue last year and stated they were insulated from the MICrochip issue and had plenty of inventory to cover their Bronco builds, I believe they were being truthful. We know this because due to a 1/2 dozen (or more) other real constraints they were only producing about 15 (I feel the need to point out here that 15 is just sarcasm) Broncos per month. Now that MAP is humming along and actually producing a hundred thousand (more sarcasm) Broncos per month suddenly the Bronco is no longer insulated from the chip shortage.
Not that I really give a shit…..I just wanted to post in the same thread as RA and HDT for old times sake.

Picked mine up last night and financing guy mentioned that the chips for auto start/stop are a thing right now as far as getting them. First I've heard anything so specific, take with a grain of salt etc

It's no secret that @Rick Astley loves Eruption green. It's also no secret that most circuit boards are also green. If you think this is a coincidence, well then you might be right. But the chips that control the A.S.S. system in the Bronco? They haven't been in fashion since Burning Man 1996. The 1996 Burn was also the last year of the previous gen Bronco, and you'd have to high on green paint fumes to not see the conspiracy laid out right before you.

I also had a direction for this post, but Wednesday morning hangovers are way more debilitating than one would think

Ford may very well have been honest about acquiring enough chips for planned production, but with the already narrow supply and Just In Time inventory, a "chip hold" could easily mean the truck carrying the next shipment was delayed by these snowstorms.

I'm waiting on my 2021 BB to show up and a Dealer near me just had a 2022 BB show up. Makes no sense. My only guess at this point would be that this is the fault of transport and shipping and not ford. idk.

Guys, it’s my fault. Everything was going way to smooth. Ordered BB 10/28 got a production email 11/18 for 1/10 week. Blend date was 1/14 then crickets. This always happens to me. Lol
