Hi! New to the forum. I’m looking to put an order in for a new Bronco this summer and will be using it for daily driving and hopefully some light off-roading. Found my way here looking for ideas on builds and aftermarket mods. Currently I am back and forth between a base-squatch or a mid-package Big Bend with the optional locking diff.

DD, welcome to the forum. A wealth of info here. My advice would be to study the specs for each trim level and respective options. That give you a start on the basics. Next decide on usage and then look you're after. You said light off roading. Any bronco will serve for that. As important is the look you want. If you like the lifted look w/ bigger tires, add a Sasquatch package. That gets you front and rear lockers (I believe across all trims levels), more off road capability and everything is designed to work together. And full warranty.

Also, make liberal use of the search function before asking a question that probably been answered before. Although some threads get very long.

Why base or big bend? You just gonna use it as a daily? Why not black diamond? Maybe I'm biased but that's what I have now, located in pgh

Greetings,

you mention you want to put an order in for a Bronco in the summer. I don't know when you are wanting one, but you better put an order in right now. Depending on options and what dealer you choose, it could be 2023 or later until you get one.....

Welcome!!!

Based on your description both the Base and Big Bend will work for you. Can't go wrong with either.

If you add a rear locker to the Big Bend, that basically gives you the same capability as 90% of the "off-roading" vehicles on the market including the Toyota 4Runner TRD Off-Road, all of the Jeep Wrangler trims other than the Rubicon. So I personally think it is a worthwhile upgrade, even if you get it just for resale value.

Base-squatch obviously is the Sasquatch package which is the high-end off-roading package. Extremely capable, but you'll sacrifice some MPG and everyday comforts. The best "bang-for-your-buck" trim is by far the Black Diamond. So may want to consider adding that to your list, especially if you see yourself starting to do some moderate off-roading.

And as @stuckinohio said, I'm not sure when you are expecting to recieve your Bronco. But keep in mind that Ford is roughly 15-17 months behind schedule due to sheer demand and supply chain issues. When you get your Bronco will heavily depends on what Bronco you order, and the lower trims have a shorter wait time. But if you want it before the end of 2022, I would actually order sooner rather than later.

Oh, and definitely order the Advanced 4x4. If for no other reason but resale value.

Hey Dan, welcome! I'm in Bucks too.
I have a 2 dr BaseSquatch on order. It's the best value if you want the better drivetrain (advanced 4wd, locking diffs) and the bigger wheels/tires. Black Diamond is about the same price but you don't get the Squatch wheels/tires. You do get the vinyl interior tho.
Big Bend is a 5k markup for tinted rear windows, leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter, and additional interior lights. That's not much of an upgrade for the $$. The BB does allow you to add options NA on the Base such as the mid package and different interior.
I reserved mine in August 2020, maybe I'll get it by August 2023.

Yeah I’ve heard about the terrible waits. I’m actually having a house built and it should be done around June. Until the mortgage is signed I’m on a complete financial lockdown. Don’t want to end up living in my Bronco 🤣

The only reason was price. Trying to keep my price as low as I can without giving up too much. On second look though the black diamond is still in that $40k-$45k range I want to keep it in. And it wouldn’t need new aftermarket tires to make it look right. I’ll def consider it

Hey thanks! I hear you on the BB, I was looking at that one over the base for the mid-package so I could get the heated seats and remote start. Also I really like the way the grey grill looks with the iconic sliver. Now whether a grill color is worth the extra cash is an open question. Would love to hear your thoughts on local dealers and who you went with.

Right there with yah, I told the boss if I could save for a year and keep my payments where they were with my jku I'll get it. I saved like 20k and was able to only increase my payment by 20$(380) a month. So I feel yah on payment but we all don't know each other's Financial situations
