Got Our Bronco !

From Sunny Southern CA, we are hoping to learn more about the bronco from this forum, our dealer was OK, had a lot of problems at first but they did pull through the guy we had issues with I think was fired ! Anyway we have an outerbanks Sasquach its for my wife until my Wildtrak gets built, overall we really like the car; I mean its no Toyota 4Runner which is where we both came from, the refinement and finesse and just overall practicality of the 4runner is amazing its a car that just works ! The Bronco is a cool car its convertible but its definitely got a host of first gen issues which we knew getting into it, and just some really stupid American car crap that really has no better way than explaining it but the term "really ? Ford did that ?" I mean come on ... from wiring harness issues to overall fit and finish ... its just no Toyota ... My appreciation of Toyota has gone up in volumes since getting one for the first time 5 years ago, the best news however is that I got exactly what I paid for my 4 runner 5 years ago so I made out like a bandit, AND, my Bronco is probably worth like 15 K over what I paid how could I go wrong ! We have had the car about a month now, so I'll post more impressions on the other threads.

Its a very cool car, and a very good looking car, practically speaking I am not sure yet where it lies, its somewhere inbetween OK and below average for city driving, its hard to get in and out of the car, and its hard to use the factory step, it feels very nice once you are in though.

Can anyone explain to me why above the step and on all Broncos I have seen where the body mates to the frame at least where it can be seen, there are silly holes and an unfinished horrific look ? I mean it looks super janky, I'm thinking of putting some trailer park lights down there on a strip to cover that area and make it look respectable. Anyone else noticed this ?

It's because it's not a Toyota...

There's Ford accessories you can purchase to install here to cover it. Or just buy rock rails and it'll cover it too.

I'm being real guys and gals as I read posts on this forum its all too positive with a hint of negative, there are issues with the bronco as with any car, or product, I feel its important to elucidate BRONCO BRONCO BRONCO I told that to my dealer once and he got upset ! Have you guys seen the wire harness in the bumper for the reverse sensors OUCH !

It’s called a pinch weld. Here’s what I did on mine. I added Trail armor from the Ford accessories catalog.

I cross-shopped the 4Runner. Even rented one for a week long vacation. Really liked it. Thought it was a bit under powered and that 5 speed needed at least 2 more. If I could take the roof off I might have even bought one.

Bronco does have issues and there are many, many threads discussing them. Mic top and 2.7 issues among others.

But you did come into a Bronco forum stating you got yours but “it’s no Toyota 4 Runner”.
