So - I removed the rear side windows a few weeks back - and now I can't get them back in..... I've got everything clipped in at the front - but cannot stretch it far enough to get the rear clipped in... I took it to the dealer and he said "ya - its new so it's tight - try it again after it's been sitting in the sun.." - well - now it's about 40 degrees - and the back of the windows are wide open and I'm freezing...

I've watched all the YouTube videos and am doing everything right - dealer even confirmed I was doing it correctly... Is anyone else having trouble getting these windows back in and secured?

Thanks -

Is the top clamped in at the front or is it tight getting the windows in no matter what? In my old Jeep I had to loosen the whole top so it had a little more flex.
If someone has a heat gun, you could use that or maybe a hair dryer on high heat to warm the top around the window to be more flexible. Just brainstorming here.

I'm not sure what Ford says about the soft top, but my Jeep's owner's manual said not to remove the soft top if the temperature was below 60 deg. The material shrinks in cold weather. Try leaving the front latches undone and try it. If that doesn't work, I would suggest trying to put the truck in a heated garage and let the top warm up for a few hours so it can stretch out a bit.

There is a trick!! When you do the buckles at the top is up to you. The side windows put tension on the rear windows. Assuming you’ve already slide it as far as you can to the rear with the front side inserted put one of your hands on the rounded piece of the back window and starting at the bottom wedge the side window in. You’ll see a notch cut into it that helps.

you're probably putting them on the wrong side of the vehicle. hard to slide? its the wrong side. swap them and see if that works.

I don't follow.... I've got the front inserted - (rear window already in with corner pieces) - you're saying grab the rounded corner piece?

I'm sure I've got them on the right sides as the clips and flaps are all in the right spots.

From your picture it actually looks like your back window corner piece isn't quite seated right

well here's what I'm referring to at least:

I would also add that the track in the window is mostly one piece but there is a section of that somtimes doesn't make it into the track
Thanks for this video! My wife is out in my car now - but will try this when she gets home... I gotta say though - mine is like an inch away from that... But I'll video and send.

I took mine out once this year, above 40 degrees. But when I put the windows back in, I snapped everything in first then clipped the windows (at the top) and Velcro last.. Learned that from my jku. best of luck...

So, I slid in, clipped the back in, stretched the front(left or right) then clipped/ Velcro the top.

I agree with @JediMcMuffin… it looks like the rounded corner of the back window isn’t seated right. Mine sit a little deeper into the body of the car near the tail light when properly seated.

The top peg of the rounded corner slips into a slot on the soft top frame, and the bottom part of the rounded corner has a notch that clips onto a small horizontal metal bar on the soft top frame.

If that isn’t seated right, the soft flexible plastic on the end of the side windows won’t slip into the groove in the rounded corner of the rear window.

Slotting that rounded corner into place is usually where I have most of my trouble. I like to start by angling the upper peg into the slot and pushing it upwards a little to slip it into place. Then I’ll push the bottom towards the front of the car while applying some upward pressure to lock it in. You’ll know it’s locked into place when you feel it pop onto the small bar a little.

After that it’s just flipping out the flexible plastic bit of the back end of the side window, fitting it into the groove provided by the rounded corner of the rear, and pushing the rest into place.

Hopefully this explanation doesn’t confuse much. Here’s some pics I just took to help out…

This. The tab on the back window does not go in the slot that the white arrow points too. It goes in front. If the rear windows isn't installed correctly you will not be able to seat the rear of the back window. Had to go through this reminder last night while putting the top up
