$9,600 replacement MIC 2-door tops?

So now all of us that switched to a soft top are now paying $8k more for our Bronco when we finally get the hardtop through Ford parts/accessories. F-ing Bullsh!tt.

Probably just because they’re so scarce right now. Ford said that the mic tops won’t be available for purchase as accessories until 2023 in the email telling us that we could switch to a soft top if we wanted it sooner. At that time, I assume the prices will be about the same price that they show in the bronco build and price tool. For now, every mic top that ford sells to a body shop is basically being taken from a reservation holder. Eventually, the supply will equal or surpass the demand, and the price will come back down to earth.

It would be great if the insurance company would just cut a check, then someone could just buy a soft top and ride it out for a year, then buy a mic when they become available as an accessory. Then you’d have both tops with a few grand left over.

If they total it, BUY IT BACK. You can usually get it for pennies on the dollar. Then buy a soft top and drive it. Order a new one and sell this one.

Even with a rebuilt title it will still get a good price on resale. The only way to lose on this ordeal is to let them total it and take it away.

I have a 4dr MIC top on order retail was $5900. I have purchased many vehicles from this dealer so they have given me a discount on that. Expected delivery according to the motorcraft site is 10/23.

Make them pay you instead of using their body shop. Use a shop of your choosing for the body work and put a Bestop on it. Pocket the 8k difference.

Evidently so. Dealer's body shop called me to let me know that their/State Farm's estimate had grown from app. $12,000 to nearly 30k. Big part was the MIC top which had taken some damage when my Bronc swung around and hit the side of the Sacramento city bus that nailed me in the front quarter panel. (Driver swears he light was green.)

Evidently, SF wanted to know if he could just repair the top. I had this machine for a bit more than a month. Drove it from Nashville to California and, no, I don't think I want the top to be glued/chemically welded back together. Pics available when I get them.

If it’s a word v. word red light dispute, those city buses typically have no fewer than 16 different cameras on them, for what that’s worth. At least in my neck of the woods.

Bestop has tops for $1400 on their website and I believe they are the OEM for soft tops.

Nowhere close to salvage auction prices. I sell insurance. Had a client with total loss bought their $10,000 vehicle for $1200. If the insurance company does not have to deal with it, it saves them a ton of money. Towing, storage, title transfer, etc. They took the money out of the payout. Might be a little different if there is a large line on it.

Oh the joys of insurance companies. They raise your rates due to the crazy drivers in your area and then when one of those crazy peeps hits you, they don’t wanna pay to get you fixed.
Not the case here, but I’m blown away by how much they are quoting you. Might be done on purpose so they just total it?
