Since my 72 is garaged 9 months out of the year and only taken out for car shows and going to garage saleing with the wife ,the 21 will be a much more practical vehicle as my daily driver especially up here in the PNW.
BTW my 72 has the same running gear as a 75,76,77 dana 44, 9" big bearing rear end ,front disk breaks power steering ect ...... and to be honest even with after market high back seats ,its not all that comfortable to drive long distance, lots of rattling with 33s on it.

Give me a new motor, new trans, new axles, and new wiring AND a 3 year 50,000 mile warranty and I would absolutely prefer the 1975, wouldnt care if the the interior smelled like 1975 and the body was all dented and scratched(no rot though). A simple engine with simple systems, no tv in the dash, no power anything(except steering for a DD).

Most of the options people on here nitpick over are actually one of the main reasons I havent ordered yet. Im just not sure how to get ready to drive a vehicle that thinks it is smarter or a better driver than me.

Just get the Base model and turn off the nagging noises with Forscan. The 21 handles so much nicer than the 72. I couldn't imagine driving cross country in my 72, doing a trail in Moab, and then driving through a blizzard in Tahoe. The 21 handled all of this in comfort and I still have the 72 for Sunday drives.

My '75 survivor is in the garage already. We'll see if the newer Bronco materializes.

The early ones are fine for DD use. Mine has 200k+ on the odo. Only an in-frame engine refresh was done. The farthest I've gone is TN to Toronto...they do fine on the highway.

And, if it breaks down, you don't need a scanner or computer to figure out what's wrong with it.

I've owned 3 first Gens 69 half cab ,75 and 76 . At the time during the 15 year span I owned those I didn't think much about the on-road manners of the EB I just accepted it. I learned to drive on the 69, 3 speed on the column no power steering or brakes in fact drums all the way around. My point of reference will be different than most people reading this. The 76 EB drove the best with the addition of power front disc brakes and Auto transmission.

I miss my EB's and regret selling any of them especially my 76 which I put a lot of time and money into it . End up buying a stupid 78 F150 I mean Bronco and regretted buying it more so than selling it.

Test drove a 2021 OBX 4 door and obviously it drives 100 fold better than the EB on the road and I am confident it will outperform the EB off-road.

I love the old EB's and wish I still had mine , but as a daily driver no way! The only bad thing about the OBX I test drove it had 4 door's which is an abomination so at that I ordered a 2 Door Badlands.

I almost bought a new 75 but ended up with a Mach 1 instead. Most of my friends had Jeep’s or Bronco’s but I couldn’t quite swing the 5600.00 at the time. The Mustang was a trouble maker though, something about the accelerator if I recall.. But, we had lots of issues with the Jeep’s as well but mostly being in places where we shouldn’t have been!

Just got my Outerbanks two weeks ago. As I was leaving my neighborhood yesterday, my neighbor drove up next to me in this 1975 Bronco (the year I was born). The ‘75 is so incredible. I had never seen it around before! QUESTION: which would you rather have - a vintage bronco — OR the 2021/22 built the way you want it. The ‘75 is so awesome. But it also has lots of limits in how it drives, functions, maintenance, etc. And let me tell you, so far the 2021 is sweet! I think it’s a tough call in my book. I know the ‘75 is worth more $$, and is much rarer. But the ‘75 seems more like a trophy to be looked at in a museum, while a ‘21 is one ready to go the distance.
