Bronco's unexpected quirks. What'cha got!?

Is there a standard outlet in the bronco. I swear I saw one early when ordering but I can’t find any info on it for the life of me.

Nope. Your phone should tell you if its fast charging. Mine (Samsung S21 Ultra) just says "Charging" while plugged into the Bronco and "Fast Charging" when plugged into a fast charger.

If you use just the USB C charger it will rapid charge. If you plug into the regular USB it will normal charge. No adapter. Just charge from USB C port to USB C port directly.

Always using two hands to open the doors because the windows always hang up on the weather strip.

It shouldn't. The windows should lower an inch when opening. That happens on my Bronco and my Mustang. One in a while like if the battery dies, the windows forget to do that. I've reset them and it's good again.

if you’re talking about a hill hold feature i don’t think it has one. however, in the crawler gear, i think that the brake might auto engage to hold you. i could be totally wrong through.

My manual Badlands has the hill hold. It works well. We had a Jetta with that feature and it was really strange when it disengaged. With the bronc, it’s really slight, but helpful.

Hmm... I have a Pixel 4a and a work cell Pixel 3XL. Both rapid charge if I use the included Pixel USB C cable with no adapter. To be clear, it's the little port to the left of the regular USB rectangular port say the back of the center console tray under the dash. I checked it today and it's charging rapidly.

I wonder if there is a setting somewhere?

yes i misspoke. i was under the impression that only the crawler gear had a mechanism like that but i was pleasantly surprised when i found out i was wrong. i think that’ll be pretty nice to have especially driving around here in colorado. some neighborhoods have stoplights at the top of a 10% hill lol.

My OBX does not have this quirk... I just double checked

There is a large ass gap between the rear bumper and body of the car though and I can't unsee it... I noticed it while washing it. I can basically stick an entire finger in there lol

That just goes with the quirks on mine... I don't think there's a single panel which is perfectly aligned.

Yeah I think that's what I'm talking about but it seems to be bigger on the passenger side than on the driver side, on my OBX. It's annoying as hell lol

Overall, I love my 2 door Badlands Lux. Super minor quirks for me:

• The wiper controls being on the turn signal tree. It would be nice for it to be separate. The first time I tried turning on my wipers, I turned on each turn signal and flashed my brights. When they’re separate you can just pull the wiper control down for a quick swipe.
• The steering wheel heater is weak sauce. My toilet seat warms up better than that.
• The e parking break should be in the center console area, but I’ve gotten used to it.
• This one is a super minor, short people issue. I kinda have to jump/fall/slide out of my seat to exit the vehicle. The outer door jam is not covered by the door, so the back of my leg gets wet if it’s wet outside. This is also coming from an SQ5, so I’m used to a little more luXe.
• I agree with everyone that the sun visors are bonkers huge, but it actually makes them usable for a shortie like me.

the minute I read your complaint about the wiper controls I knew you drove a VAG product lol…I’ve mostly driven VW, Audi or Porsches for the entirety of my life…im Just so used to having a separate wiper stalk (and cruise control and turn signal

I have no idea how to use the wipers on this thing. Thankfully I live in the desert and rarely need them.

I will say, I don’t like how easy it is to move the stalk on this thing. I’ve accidentally put on the turn signal just while turning the steering wheel. On the Porsches I have the stalks are more firm but weirdly lighter at the same time. I much prefer that application than this one.

2) Unprotected transmission cross-members that hang a couple inches lower than the skid plates and rock rails (2.7 auto's).

This is unexpected...and disturbing.

The back seat "cup holders" do not hold anything at all. They are shallow and everything falls and flips out of them. That is just dumb.



Now drive a truck on washboard roads. No contest. Trucks are so much louder.


I'm about to improve your world - It's the visor. In my Bronco, it's the passenger visor. It took me 2 months to figure it out, even with a helper trying to identify the source.

Did your visor not have the rubber piece attached to the rail to make it so it doesn't rattle? I have like a stopper it hits.
