I think buying a vehicle (new) is like buying a “bud”. We see the wonderful Clydesdales, love the “puppy bowl”, but we are not customers of any of “AB”. We are customers of Smiths/Kroger/Albertsons.
you can’t go to Ford directly and buy a car. It is all trough the dealers. We are buying a product from the dealer. Ford try’s to do what they can, but the contracts with the dealers are set and in stone, long, long, ago. The system is not a good one in todays world. Tesla broke the dealership laws, kind of. Ford is trying to bend it. There is a lot more to it than this but that is the basics.

People that give Ford a pass due to the pandemic overlook that Ford controlled their destiny.
Ford choose the suppliers.
Ford choose to globalize.
Ford choose to outsource.
Ford failed to secure their supply lines.
Ford failed to properly evaluate the outsourced hard tops as an example.

It's the same across almost all manufacturing. But that doesn't leave any of them blameless because they all do the same thing.

Customers that were misled are not at fault, Ford and the dealer network are the incompetent/bad guys.

I worry that the Bronco will go the way of the T-Bird. Big demand, big hype, poor execution, pissed off customers and when Ford ran out loyalists the T-Bird sales tanked and it was done and gone.

Idea.... don't cancel your current order, and place a new order at a dealership that can provide results you want. Let both orders stand until you get a VIN, then cancel the other order.
I have a similar build as you, but at a large Houston dealership, with Dec2020 reservation. And I have no clue when to expect my Bronco, except it will be 2022.

You're not being judged by anyone that matters. hang in there....
This is the best option and what I would do. Im not sure what the OP's build is, I don't remember reading that anywhere, but we all know the major constraints, so avoid those on your dream Bronco. I have seen people with No res. or res dates of last month getting Build dates recently.

As a fifth grade teacher I spend plenty of time talking to 11 year olds about fairness, kindness, right, and wrong.

Like many of you, over a year ago I reserved a Bronco. I had never heard of allocations, ADM, or @mrlevine. I thought I’d place my $100 deposit, get in line, and wait my turn. After all, that’s what I teach my students. “Wait your turn, and you will get your fair share.”

I have purchased enough cars in my 53 years to know I don’t like the process, but this seemed different. We were told it was different. I was ignorant, and I believed them.

As a teacher in a very high poverty district, I don’t have money to waste, so I chose a discount price from a small town dealer in a neighboring state. I got burned by that. @Ford

I drive a 2005 F150 with 230,000 miles on it, so I can’t wait 6 years for my Bronco, so I believed @mrlevine when he said I could change my dealer. I started that process over 8 weeks ago, and I’m still waiting. I’m convinced I believed the wrong people - again.

Now I find myself thinking of ways to game the system or cut the line, because doing the things I ask my students to do has gotten me nothing but grief, frustration, and embarrassment.

I know some of you will laugh at me or blame me for being so gullible, and maybe you’re correct. This has certainly been a learning experience. I just wanted the truck I had dreamed about for 30 years. I did not expect lessons in patience, disappointment, and corporate misinformation.

Good luck to everyone in line in front of me and behind me. I suspect my students will be driving before I get a Bronco. Maybe I can get a ride from one of them to the dealer for the actual delivery. 🤔
Damn, I feel for you, because nothing about this whole process has been truly fair for many, many people.

I realize that overall, I have been truly fortunate, because despite buying many vehicles - I certainly wasn't prepared for this goat rope.

I have a Bronco (that actually mostly works as advertised) and I am at the back of the line at Granger for another Bronco (as the Girlfriend wants to get one). It will be 2026 before I see a 2 door WildTrak Lux and Tow through Granger - and that would be fast.

I wish you the best of luck.

I hate to say I totally disagree with this statement, look at Tesla cars, there was a two year waiting list for those, when I reserved my bronco it was just that, a reservation, not a promise, it said that on the reservation. I too have an 05 f150, I have 326,000 miles on it... I'm a state employee and not made of money, but I waited patiently, my local dealer called two days after getting my reservation and the day the 2022 banks opened I went and paid my deposit to order.
My local dealer has emailed me weekly, Ford has now given me a production date of 1/3/22, I was instructed by my dealer, if I wanted one in the next year, go base as possible. Which is what I did... My dealer has been great, there small and local, but specialize in ordering vehicles.
I'm sorry so many of you feel cheated or duped by Ford, but we were clearly told it was no promise of delivery to reserve one. It only costs $100 to reserve, if $100 makes or breaks us, then we probably shouldn't be buying a premium off road SUV that takes premium fuel and needs maintenance....
It wasn't about the $100 (or even the $500 in my case), it was about them doing the right thing, not changing the rules in the middle of a failed rule-out, and communicating effectively with the customer (and setting expectations correctly). Ford failed on many levels and that was what many people were not prepared for... Especially when they failed on many very basic things.

You can change dealers. You could have changed dealers the day you wanted to. You reservation isn't going to transfer dealers. I learned that a few weeks after I placed my first one. I canceled it and started a new one.

My build week is 1/17/21.

This process hasn't been the smoothest but the number of grown adults on this website that wants Ford to wipe your ass for you is getting a little ridiculous.
I hate to tell you this, but your build week is not 01/17/21.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but that is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I'll go ahead and apologize for the global pandemic. If you go back and look at the communication only from ford, not the dealer, not bronco6g, not bronco nation, not facebook, and not instagram, you will see that you have not been lied to. They have kept you informed the best they can. If you worked in any industry that was effected by the same things they were then you might be sending the same communication to your customers. You paid a $100 for a place in line and that is where you are. Just like anyone else that did the same thing. If someone had theirs before you then it is because their parts were available and they could do it. I've never seen so many grown ass people bitch and complain about their vehicle being delayed. I apologize for hurt feelings. I guess I prefer posts were buyers are excited about their bronco and share fun stories about them.

No disrespect to the OP. Hang in there. There’s no conspiracy. Ford isn’t out to get you.

Like the rest of us who have been invested from the start, waiting for our turn, equally frustrated by the Ford Marketing mishaps and communication blunders…your time will come.

Those who somehow got a raw deal along the way, whether from a unscrupulous dealership or by dumb luck, hang in there. Figure out next steps to take and keep at it. You too deserve this Bronco, unless you choose to give up.

And to those who feel abused because the universe hasn’t satisfied their wants with the urgency they demand…take this to heart - Get off your high horse or be bucked by Ford’s Bronco! 😂

Sometimes the best prayers are unanswered ones. Maybe had you gotten one of the 1st Broncos it would have dropped a valve or had other issues leaving you stranded. The Bronco, like all newly designed vehicles, get more and more issues worked out the longer it's in production.

Never bought into the reservation deposit and order .Just knew the dealers would start getting inventory and no ADM .Prefer to compare and pick on dealer lots with no surprises and some negotiating .Lots are showing up on lots now at Msrp with hard tops , sasq, tow , etc . Almost anything a person wants here in BC Canada . Great time to have waited out some of the early issues and get a great deal when ready , patience is a virtue

Ford stated 2 items that have never been true. 1. Every order would be filled prior to dealer stock. Still shocked they actually said this. 2. You will get your order based on time stamp.

Those 2 statements and their disastrous implementation of the hardtop is reason enough to go buy the 4.88 JL Rubicon!

Consider yourself fortunate to have such a reputable dealer. A lot of people don’t have that luxury.
