I’ve picked up a pair of Squadron Pro pod lights for my A pillar and plan to wire them into AUX switch 3.

unfortunately, when I opened the box I found that I don’t have the upfitter harness and splitter that comes with the BD Bronco kit. I’m trying to avoid outplaying another $65 for the wiring harness, so my question is:

Can I cut apart the standard wiring harness to make an DIY upfitter harness? Or is this a really bad idea?

thanks in advance!

You are going to cut right before the relay. Tie in both powers and both grounds. You are then able to connect them to the aux switches on the vehicle.
